they used to have the whole segment with the second song up on youtube but i couldn't find it.  i'm sure they eventually pulled the plug on it cause of copyright issues.

Records I'm looking forward to if they do come out in 08:
a Rantouls 7"
Traditional Fools LP
Rock n Roll Adventure Kids 7"
Snake Flower 2 LP

Rantouls -the lp is almost out. They just got the test pressings last week.
Traditional Fools -the new 7" (maybe a 12" single -not an lp though) is out. They were supposed to pick them up in San Diego to take with them on their tour. I hope they got them.
Rock n Roll Adventure Kids -the new 7" is out on Bachelor Records
Snake Flower 2 -the cd came out on TTT already. I guess the lp is out next month.

who put out the traditional fools record?

Here's my favorite clip

http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=1524625262

Here's a blurb about the video from wikipedia

On November 20, 1955, he appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show only to infuriate the host. "I did two songs and he got mad," Bo Diddley later recalled. "Ed Sullivan said that I was one of the first colored boys to ever double-cross him. Said that I wouldn't last six months". Bo Diddley was asked to sing Tennessee Ernie Ford's hit "Sixteen Tons", but when he appeared on stage, he sang "Bo Diddley." He was banned from further appearances.

you don't see it in this video, but he goes on to play another song right after they finish bo diddley if i remember correctly.  but man, you can see what a bad motherfucker he was in this video.  he's cool as ice, just stepping and shuffling to the beat, singing.  and dig the man in the back with the maracas just hold the rhythym down.  if you notice, the whole band is locked into the rhythm of the tremelo on bo's guitar.  that shit is ill.

RIP The Originator...

I saw them and they were awesome.  they even broke shit at the end of the set.  and not only do they have alot of energy, their songs are really good too.  they are very much like I imagine the black lips were when they were coming up.  and that's a good thing

Nobunny - Love Visions LP
Dead Ghosts 7"
Hentchmen - My Catalina 7"
Blank Dogs - Doorbell Fire 7"
The Rock n Roll Adventure Kids first 7"
Strange Boys - Nothing 7"

I just found out yesterday that I was playing the songs on the Strange Boys 7" at 45rpm, when the record is 33rpm.  The whole time I thought the singer sounded like a 6 year old girl...  I saw them at Austin, and remembered his voice being really high, so I didn't think twice about it.  I actually kind of like the record better at 45 though, to be honest.
you should try it out.
