the new Honey Radar LP should be a good one.

The World - 7"EP
Will appear near the top of my 2016 best-of list, to be sure.  Band-released version apparently delayed, but believe they'll have UK copies available on their US tour in May.  Anyway, total-package kinda affair/band, hits all marks perfectly.  Believe 2 tapes + a flexi are also forthcoming?  Who knows?  THE WORLD!  Please bring me a Rays EP next.

Hey dog, give me some more info on this un-Google-able 7"

Baskets season 1 was great, should be Louie-level popular IMO.

Carmichael Show season 2 has been good so far, easily the best network sitcom going at the moment.

i'm not an analog purist, so yeh i think a cheapo controller + pirated ableton/plugins is a good way to get in to synth stuff. microkorg is a digital synth anyway, and korg makes a bunch of plugins that model some of their popular analog synths, you could try those. it's really easy to map knobs on midi controllers like that akai one to whatever synth/plugin/FX parameters you want, so you can still get a (admittedly less satisfying) tactile experience without spending the $$$. plus you can use it as a sampler, drum machine, whatever, it's very versatile. only downside is that one ends up having to learn a lot of computer shit instead of plugging something into an amp and playing it. not very punk!

I've used tapes.com, don't know if they're the cheapest but i thought they were reasonable, and if you happen to be in Brooklyn, you get free same-day delivery.

I don't think it pushes his innocence, per se. To me, it more just shows what these sort of trials might feel like and how they might be covered if people like Avery were actually presumed innocent. It's still a biased lens, of course, but one that is more in line with how the justice system is supposed to work.

i buy that he probably did it. though the question of "who else could have done it?" is an interesting one that isn't really explored in the doc-- it basically shows the defense's side of the case, and the judge said that they weren't allowed to implicate anyone else in the crime during trial, they could only show that the police at best didn't do a thorough enough job with the investigation, and at worst engaged in conspiracy. based on what's shown in the doc, they did an amazing job, but obviously there's a lot more to the story.

the thing that really fucked me up the most was all the shit with the nephew, though. the cops who interrogated him, his original public defender and that investigator are all fucking scum.
