Peter Molinari - A virtual landslide

British country/folk artists with a big hype behind them usually stinks. But this is solid shit. Been listening to A Virtual Landslide a lot lately. Molinari gonna play live in town on wednesday. Lookin forward to it. Unfortunately it clashes with U.S. Girls. I,m not a big fan of the recorded stuff I,ve heard with her. But I suspect that I probably would like it a lot better live. It is always so fucking annoying when there is two or more shows you really wanna go to. I tend to get in a bad mood and imagine the other show to be the best ever and that I miss the time of my life.
I saw him and bought his other record, I really like his music. He does Billy Childish songs in a folk way a million times better than when Billy tries to do them like that. His track It Cuts on Either Side is a brilliant reworking of Thee Mighty Caesars' The Double Axe.

The tracks where Billy Chilish's wife sings are shit though. God what a horrible voice. It's a real shame she sings on Alone and Forsaken, as his voice would be perfect for it.

We just did some one-mic recordings with Beast with a Gun for the first time in a while. Though at first they sound like complete shit compared to our studio stuff, they sound a hell of a lot more like us. I'm gonna replace our Myspace tracks with them in a minute.

Music Shit / Re: FAST help with lyrics????????????

I was always pretty certain on both verses it was 'I got no money for just one more shot/ he said god bless you son I said thanks a lot.' It's a bit clearer on the live version with Roy Loney, from the In Person album.

I do suck at working out lyrics but I think I prefer this to the other suggestions, right or wrong.

Finally got a new graphics card and Fallout 3, and have been playing it solid for several days. I take back all previous cynicism. The Oblivion framework is actually great for the Fallout world. I was just distracted by how shit the content was in the former.

We've got some less arty and more dumb stuff on the East coast. Mainly my band and Slim Limbs.

Also up and coming is budget swing group Jukebox Jonah and the Random Rummies... http://www.myspace.com/jukeboxjonah

I think this stuff is probably 'not termbo.' Oh well. Some more:

(edit: those last bands are not all from the east coast, in case you were wondering, which you were not.)

Thee Vicars, Despondents, Coyotemen and Los Chicos at a tiny pub in Norwich. Insane show, and the atmosphere picked up right from the moment the first band hit the stage.

Best band I saw was probably Black Time when we put them on, but the turnout was shit.

It's credited to Cartwright on the CD. Definitely the best song from the wimpy half of that alb.

Just got a video of our halloween night  back from one of the bands. Features Quickbrownfox, a couple of guys dressed in massive cardboard Mars Bar outfits dancing, Los Raw Gospels being awesome while a bunch of fat people ignore them, and our stupid Evil Elvis act.

The demo of Fifa 09 has definitely won me over from a long time Pro Evo obsession.

Rockin' the PS3 or 360?

I've been thinking about buying one of the nextgen systems.
PC actually. The mouse control is pretty good - not as advanced as the PES 2008 Wii controls, but they work.

My Wii is my main games console. I'm pretty happy with it, although I've been too broke to buy games for it for the past few months so haven't really been keeping up.

I fired up Excite Truck for the first time in ages the other day and absolutely DECIMATED my high score on Canada Winding Road in about three goes, which I'd previously spent hours and hours attaining. 609 mofungos. Seriously great game.
