I was just listening to the Sibylle Baier again until this dude at work insisted I change it. Apparently it was "putting him to sleep. I need some drums man" Dick.

Listened to some of the Easter Monkeys Splendor of Sorrow LP last night, his work on there is so great.

That said, and I agree with SS completely, I have sneaking suspicion we'll see them review a few of the upcoming SS releases, namely Cheveu, Nothing People and Los Llamarada.

Listening to a Mono dollar copy of Surrealistic Pillow I found yesterday.
I've never bothered to listen to this for various reasons over the years but I must say it has some real gems on it. Totally surprised at how much I'm liking it.
Also just played the Obsession comp in its entirety. Such a nice package all the way through.

Damn, that sucks. I really like what i've heard of them. In fact, the first band Kevin recommended to me when i me met him online last year. Too young. Sorry man.
Aleks, bring some tonight and we will play it at the bar.

wha - no new england?  looks like i'm gonna have to take the bus down to nyc... new yorkers: how's the cake shop, is it gonna be worth the hassle to get down there, or is it gonna be like that Clean/TNV invitation only/sold out  business?

you could always fly into cbus for a long weekend. there's room for the stapler on this bill, right?!

Just finished Sibylle Baier - Colour Green. So nice.

Before that I played More Moondog and Moondog S/T from 1956.
And before that was Pet Sounds.
And now I'm starting to wonder just how much Brian Wilson was influenced by Moondog. Are there any quotes or interviews where Wilson mentions Moondog as inspiration? Is this a pretty obvious connection?

two copies of TNV's dig yourself lp i can see a first press "spraypainted/silkscreen version" going for ~$20, but $84 for the "oh-shit-we-need-150-more-covers-because-this-was-only-supposed-to-be a-press-of-300 version" seems a bit ridiculous

Yep, that's actually the second run they did.
Last night I was pleased to find a black on black copy I thought I gave away a long time ago. I think it is one of the 150 edition.

Damn, I knew Buckingham-Nicks era Mac would get thrown into the mix at some point.
One of the most polarizing groups in my world, as I know a few who love it.
True story: I've actually listened to Mirage twice in the past five months. Why I waste my time I don't know.

ps - that Bob Seger song rips. Ever wonder who puts together those youtube montage music videos?

TJSA - Bait & Switch CD - while I was out to lunch. Still has the $2 used sticker on it. I forget where I bought it years ago. Talk about $2 well spent though...actually, there are probably $1 copies of this CD everywhere. I've never had an LP version though, was the pressing limited? Or is it clogging up the $1 bins in NYC?

email Used Kids records in Columbus and they'll send you a sealed one for around ten bucks. For some reason they did a bunch of Bait and Switch LPs and not so many V-3 Photograph Burns LPs, as those are going for about $50 these days.

The Grand Illusion has always been a favorite shitty dollar bin LP for me. Styx II as well.
Those are the ones with their biggest hits so their obviously the most common.
I've never heard The Serpent is Rising or their debut, but this thread has me wanting to hear them (even if the whole post is a joke).
And just about every ELO record through Out of the Blue is worth owning, yeah. Don't really see much wrong with that pic of Jeff either, but I'm a fan of ridiculous glitter every once in a while.
