Reckless lists this on their website, but when I went by, I didn't see any. Is it possible they would have some already?

I don't know, I think BTI sounds kind of like a darker version of The Clean.

I've never Paypal'd so fast.  I should've ordered multiple copies, but that just seems wrong.

That said, I do have extra copies of both Mayyors singles to sell or trade.

The Quine tapes are pretty cool.  They did a 3-disc official bootleg.  I went through a phase where I bought a lot of Velvets bootlegs, but I can't remember what's on what. I'll do some listening and report back.

Non-Music Shit / Re: celebrity sightings
« on: January 24, 2009, 01:28:32 PM »
For some reason, most of the famous people I've seen have been basketball players.

Shawn Kemp (at Houston airport)
Dikembe Mutombo (at Raleigh airport)
Ralph Sampson (at Busch Gardens)
Larry Hughes (at the grocery store)

And I saw Jesse Jackson on the street in downtown Chicago.

I guess I've never seen a famous white person.  Wait, I saw Rachel Dratch once in New York.

Yeah, I've never seen a famous white person.

Non-Music Shit / Re: i want to take some pcp
« on: January 24, 2009, 12:52:56 PM »
Yeah, I don't want to take any PCP.

"This past April Compton rapper Antron Singleton, aka Big Lurch, reportedly took PCP and turned into a would-be werewolf, tearing a woman apart and eating part of her lungs (as Warren Zevon says: "You better stay away from him/He'll rip your lungs out, Jim"). Los Angeles police officers arrested Singleton after spotting him running naked down a street in South Central, his mouth and face covered in blood. According to the county district attorney's office, the cops later found the body of his roommate, 21-year-old Tynisha Ysais, in the apartment they shared. Her chest had been ripped open and a knife was jammed into her shoulder. They pumped the stomach of Big Lurch and found her tissue inside."

Lolz @ "It was a song written for people in the vitamin industry."

I felt kinda bad for the mom until the son Brian proved his utter douchiness just a couple comments later.

The two Bill Direen/Bilders comps are way underrated.

There are four Bilders comps. The first three are all very good. Starts to fall off some by Vol. 4.

From Wikipedia:

# Builders - Vol. 4 Pyx (CD, Flying Nun, 1994) A retrospective CD mostly covering the years 1985-1988.
# Bilderine - Vol. 3 - Split Seconds (CD, Flying Nun, 1994) A few songs of the original 1984 LP have been omitted and other ones added.
# Builders Vol.2 - Beatin Hearts (CD, Flying Nun, 1993) Similar to the original 1983 LP, with two out-takes from the original Builders session at Progressive Studios in Auckland.
# Bilders Vol.1 - Max Quitz (CD, Flying Nun, 1993) This release combines 5 EPs from groups of the eighties.)

Crazy World Of Arthur Brown - Fire

I got this for 50 cents (maybe a quarter?) at a thrift store in Fort Wayne, IN. The record literally had a clump of dirt on it, but once I brushed it off, it played pretty good.

The other Bad Vugum stuff they carry is in the $15.98 range, I don't know why this would be more expensive, but I'm not in the Finnish importing business.

I asked Aquarius if they were gonna get these since they carry some other Bad Vugum stuff.  They're looking into it. If you talk to that dude again, tell him to hook it up!

I occasionally read Jazz Corner Talk and the All About Jazz boards. The talk is more about the music and certain artists or releases than collector type shit.

One of the dudes from Climax Golden Twins put out an awesome box set recently, think you can still get it from Forced Exposure.
Goodbye Babylon box set if you really become obsessed.

Is that the name of it or are you referencing another box set?

Goodbye Babylon is a different box set, of gospel stuff, comes in a wood box, really nice packaging. There was even a New Yorker article about it!
