I recall asking for a take on Horace Silver a while back, but at that point I had only heard Song For My Father which I actually found to be kinda boring. But since then I picked up Serenade To A Soul Sister based off of someone's recommendation and it's quite good. Damn if the title track isn't funky as shit!

I suppose they had to happen but they happened too long. The first two records are about as bubble gum as new wave gets and I like that there is absolutely nothing serious about them. But I've heard them a million times and dont need to hear them again.I guess that's all I was looking for. Though just for the sheer fun of posing an argument I might say that the Waitresses, Josie Cotton, and Katrina & the Waves were more overly bubblegum (all of whom I for some reason like in small doses).
