I think Song For My Father is one that I need to let absorb a bit more.

I recall asking for a take on Horace Silver a while back, but at that point I had only heard Song For My Father which I actually found to be kinda boring.  But since then I picked up Serenade To A Soul Sister based off of someone's recommendation and it's quite good.  Damn if the title track isn't funky as shit!
Have you heard it?  If so yay or nay?

Sorry Jared - I really dont know about the B52s. I suppose they had to happen but they happened too long. The first two records are about as bubble gum as new wave gets and I like that there is absolutely nothing serious about them. But I've heard them a million times and dont need to hear them again.
I guess that's all I was looking for.  Though just for the sheer fun of posing an argument I might say that the Waitresses, Josie Cotton, and Katrina & the Waves were more overly bubblegum (all of whom I for some reason like in small doses).
I think I have to add the Go-Gos and the Bangles to that list, too.

Yeah, Grim Reaper are hilarious because they're so damn aweful.  I know serious metal heads that listen all that shit that won't even touch Grim Reaper.

I dunno, man, I think 'Rock for Light' is pretty bitchin', too.  But let's let the man speak (or rather type).

It's just the romantic concept of seeking out the unfamiliar (or vaguely familiar).  I've tasted it (albeit very briefly) and I'm stickin' with the West (at least if staying in this country...).

Dude, I'll take stuck-up Mo's to fat in-breds anyday.  Maybe it's just what I'm used to, though.

...oh, yeah.  um, I guess in the spirit of Johnno's SST them what's your take on 'I Against I'?  Brilliant career peak or over-produced beginning to a mighty long career slump?
