Most of the people that work there are in bands.  Two of the guys from the Wet Ones bartend there.

As for record stores try out Mills www.facebook.com/MillsRecordCompany
They have a good mix of used & new and prices are decent.

Right across the street from Mills is the Riot Room, http://www.theriotroom.com
This venue that has a lot of metal, punk, & rap shows.

There is also Josey Records www.facebook.com/joseyrecordskc
A good selection on new stuff and they have a lot of good used records but tend to be a bit higher price wise.

Mostly used and prices are all over the map.

Fag Cop and fag magic all in the same night. Wayne Pain got the crowd pregnant with their sleaze and despite their short set Fag Cop was on fire. I predict one member of Catholic Spray will be hospitalized or arrested before their Gonerfest appearance....

Venues are all within walking distance.

The Granada & Jackpot are half a block from each other as are the Bottleneck & Liberty Hall.

From the Jackpot both Liberty Hall & the Bottleneck are about four blocks.

was gonna ask someone bout that.  Smoking permitted?

recently kansas became a no-smoking state, and lawrence has been smoke-free for a long time.  you have to take it outside.  

The only venue (that is part of the fest) with a smoking patio that allows drinks outside is the Jackpot.  Being that its the smallest of the four venues involved its a good bet that inside & out will be packed.

The Replay Lounge (not part of the fest) has a huge open air beer garden in back where you can smoke till your lungs turn black.  Its right across the street from the Jackpot so if you need a break from the action stop by.

Weekend weather report: Sunny all weekend, Friday high temp 76 low 48, Saturday high temp 68 low 39, Sunday high temp 65 low 35.  Bring a jacket!

There are plenty of places on Massachusetts Street to eat/shop.  Here is a good site to check out places to eat & things to do: www.lawrence.com

Austin, TX to Lawrence is a long 12 and a half hour drive.  Memphis to Lawrence is around 8 and a half hours.
