I haven't really followed gamergate, but since i was very interested in the comet landing, i picked up on the whole #shirtstorm thing.
In case you haven't followed here's what happened:
Dr. Matt Taylor from the Rosetta mission wore a shirt during the press conference that had half-naked comic girls on it. The shirt was a gift from his FEMALE friend who made it for him as a birthday gift. He wanted to surprise her by wearing it when he was on TV worldwide.
Next thing is that "feminists" bully him on the Internet, claiming that "?This is the sort of casual misogyny that stops women from entering certain scientific fields". There were all sorts of articles & tweets about how sexist that guy is, most prominently this one:
http://www.theverge.com/2014/11/13/7213819/your-bowling-shirt-is-holding-back-progressNext day Dr.Taylor made a public apology under tears. The bullying didn't stop.
Dude just had his greatest day of his life by making an extraordinary scientific achievement, and all those people care is his fucking shirt and to harass him to tears?? If a shirt holds you back from entering science, maybe, just maybe, your dedication for science wasn't that great in the first place. Plus the double-standard of those "feminists" piss me off. We shouldn't judge what women wear, but it's OK the other way around? Feminism likes to pretend it is egalitarian; unfortunately it rarely is. This shit pisses me off and gets me mad angry.

Also, in case you forgot, Mark Zuckerbergs grey T-shirts are sexist, too.

Here's an article on the subject, that i enjoyed.
http://thefederalist.com/2014/11/17/its-time-to-push-back-against-feminist-bullies/ If you ever wondered why feminism has such a bad rep these days, look no further than shirtstorm (according to a recent survey by the Huff, only 20% of Americans call themselves feminist; but over 80% are all for egalitarianism. Wonder why that is: Cause there's too much misandry in feminism and it's gynocentric view is actually doing nothing for true egalitarianism).
