i was just generally curious about whats happening now to all those records. theres a lot of good stuff on that label. it would be sad to see projects people worked hard on just fade away.

well that solves it then. not to mention, despite now knowing whats up, Mordam would probably not have signed an exclusive distribution deal with a label that didn't officially hold the rights to the music they released. they probably reamed their asses out with binoculars like a company going to wall street.

some punk labels do use contracts believe it or not. not to make money off people or defy any general ethical principles in an attempt to make a dollar, but to avoid flaky bands who make great sounds leaving the "handshake" on a whim and completely fucking over an arrangement that already may have had a good hearted label investing money in the project.
Id plunk down for the D Unit 12"s. Just to keep it available. They are good records. And thats how most people run labels. They like shit, so they make it available.

This opens a massive new shitstorm.
I heard they werent pressing anything new. But who knows what that entails. Shit, maybe they dont even know yet what they want to do. Keep stock in print....stop releasing....or just literally firesale the shit and toss the rest. This must be one intense headache though. I cant imagine closing down a label that prevalent....dealing with all the stock and the "rights" or whatever, and royalties, any contracts if there were some. Its probably a total shitfest cleaning up and dotting i's and shit.

the mystery LP. i asked somebody about it before, but then realized i already had like 8 LPs in the pipe. sheeew. Goner? And what the heck is going on with Empty by the way? I asked Mordam about it and they are like "no we dont have the official press release yet". I wanna know if all their stock is staying in print or dying or being chopped up or returned to the bands.

hahaha! yeah thats got to be a bad place. paying interest of like 20% on a charged pen that breaks into triple digits. you could have a bill writing ceremony with it every month. and when people come over "dude check out my black flag promotional pen...do YOU want to write something with it? too bad! back in the vault."
the thing about that letter opener was so funny because the dude was describing the comparative rust wear on the handle or the blade or something to another recently posted. it was so funny to me and i had to keep looking up and laughing at how it was really describing this. i dont know, i couldnt bring myself to spend the money on any real rarities.
