Anyone have extra tickets for the Mummies show at Southpaw? I'd like to get my hands on two, but one will do just fine.

They'll probably let folks in at the door, but I don't want to chance it. I didn't even know this show got added until today. Fuck.

I saw the Mysteries of Pittsburgh this weekend (it was god awful), and there was a punk show scene in it featuring the Modey Lemon. It wasn't the best or the worst portrayal of punk I ever saw (the ML were great as always though), but it got me thinking...

What do people think are the best and worst portrayals of the "punk scene" in movies?

My personals:

Worst: LES Stiches in Summer of Sam, or just the whole CBGB's scene in Summer of Sam
Best: Circle Jerks in Repo Man

Anybody catch this on Tuesday? I was curious to see what would happend when Jay opened up for Spoon (of all bands), but couldn't make it. Any boos? Any cheers?  Or was it just a straightforward killer 22 minutes and then gone?

Doing a little music supervision work for a doc about the history of the toy business. Trying to come up with some weirdo-pop, psych, '60s, bubblegum, soul, et al songs with the theme (or really any obvious lyrics) of toys, plaything, etc.

Curious if anyone here has any cool suggestions. Would be much obliged.

Any help you can provide would be much obliged

My friends from the UK the Nightingales (LEGENDS... early Rough Trade Cherry Red post-punk twang...still going Strong) were scheduled to have a show this Thursday in Manhattan at Midway, but Midway is currently closed, so we need a new place for the show.

The 'Gales are totally fantastic (http://www.myspace.com/nightingalesmusic)
and the show will also have Christy & Emily (http://www.myspace.com/christyandemily ), another band from the UK called Hot Pants Romance (they sound like the Slits), and a new lo-fi country thing that I'm playing in ( http://www.myspace.com/tattersrags).

If anyone can help us out, it would be HUGE!!!!! Brooklyn is totally fine also.
