Nearly two months after my own review, with like a fraction of the thoughtfulness and relevance. McGonigal knows better than to shit 'em out so disposably. I'm disappointed in Pitchfork.

I was unaware that there was "thoughtfulness" to be gleaned from an Eat Skull review. But yeah that Pitchfrok review was total 4.2 at best.

He also parties with Brian Jonestown Massacre

First time I've been hit with a reason to not like HDS.

in the early 90s, once jumped in front of the door to the record store he worked at when I was possibly going to leave without a copy of "trout mask replica."

The exact same thing happened to me. Who the fuck are you?

I was also forced to by a record by some dude name Wayne Rogers when I was in high school. Wayne Rogers? Sounds fuckin' lame. I was convinced it was going to suck.

I was wrong. Very, very, very, very wrong.

But Nervous Eaters' Loretta was recorded (along with both songs on the Just Head 7") about two years earlier though, so '73-75 according to the liner notes on that Eaterville comp.

Yeah that's true. Good point. Not KBD, techincally, I guess. I think the "Loretta" single was released is '76 though, so it just misses the cut. No?

Just saying though, still kicks my ass.

Nervous Eaters "Loretta" single (b/w "Rock With Me") is quite possibly my favorite  punk single that I actually own. Shiz is JITTERY.

The Child Molesters record with "I Wanna Punch You In The Face"

I've got to go with Aaron on that one.

Eat's "Communist Radio" is pretty great too... definitely "punk', but if you slow it down a tad and record it in a studio (though I guess I'm glad they didn't do either) it could have just as easily been a "power pop" single. I like the early Zero Boys singles on Volume 3.

I've got a copy of Y on vinyl. It certainly doesn't look or feel like  a boot (I think it's gatefold even), and it's def not original. I can certainly vouch for it's high quality though. Maybe those came in went. I bought it college, almost 10 years ago.

That was a legit reissue from the mid 90s. I probably sold it to you.

Hey that's right you did! After you made fun of me for not owning Viasge and Yaz records... that was you right? Oh wait, it was, but it was a month ago not 10 years ago.

I'm playing a show with these guys THE BEETS at Don Pedro's next week. I'm kind of amazed at how good they are. Never heard of them until my buddy booked them for the show. Serious VU worship, but with added sweet slop.

I'd think they'd appeal to the Crystal Stilts fans (personally I like 'em a little better). But they live in Jackson Heights, so no one ever sees them. I could imagine them going down hill if they ever upped the fidelity, but until then...

[Pop Group.  Don't be put off by a boot, If a legit, not too expensive edition were done it would sell and sell well.

Hey all,

I booked Suttree (from Asheville, NC) a show at Don Pedros on Friday July 18th. They're looking for any kind of show on Saturday the 19th.... Anyone out there know of anything they can jump on? They're a great band.

Let me know, thanks in advance.

I still love post - "yes she is my skinhead girl" era unrest

that single and everything up to perfect teeth is gold.

CHERRY CHERRY

I'm pretty much an unabashed Unrest fan. No teverything is golden in my opinion, but that's kind of why I like them so much (there verison of 21st Century Schizoid Man is pretty triumphant though). "Make Out Club" is hard to dislike. Sweet lyrics and a great, great guitar sound.
