I'd like to know what was wrong with the unofficial thread.

If you cover the cost of the plane ticket (or even the difference, it's at least a hundred more each way than previous years), I'm in.
3
So due to awful fuel costs making a flight to Memphis more costly than usual (i.e. the past three years), I'm going to this instead of Gonerfest this year. Booked a flight to SF this morning.

Rick, my pal and I who are planning to attend would love to shack up with you but we're still looking for a cheap(ish) flight to Memphis so the jury's still out on whether we're even going.

So is everyone staying at the Motel 6 like last year? Or are the Goner folks arranging a deal at another place?

Best bands: Guinea Worms, Oblivians, Total Control, Red Mass, UV Race, Ty Segall
Best food: Germantown Commissary, Alcenia's, Gus's again, the Taqueria Familia Reyes food-cart in Southaven, Mississippi.

The floor at the house-show on Saturday was just like a trampoline. I thought for sure we were all gonna crash through that thing! That added a nice element of danger to an otherwise complete fun and friendly show.

Best people-watching moment: Yeah, it was a trip seeing Turbojugend represent for the night of New Bomb Turks. Those member jackets were as neatly festooned as an Eagle Scout's uniform. How is that punk? I was highly entertained by watching that one dude, though. You all saw him. He had a girlfriend with a sorta mutated Betty Page haircut...silver-streaked on the side. Made her look older, although she surely must've thought it made her look hotter. Dude seemed to be on constant watch...like "Who's checking out my girlfriend now? I'll kill you!" Eyes just darting around, looking ever so vigilant and stressed-the-fuck-out. He'd never noticed his girlfriend up and left half the time until she was halfway across the room, and then it looked like he was her little puppy on a leash..."NO, THIS WAY!!!" All that tough-guy posturing right down the drain. The only moment I saw him drop his guard was when New Bomb Turks played, and he threw all caution to the wind. (Sorry, man. If you are reading this, don't be offended. I am helping you out. You will have more fun at Gonerfest 8 as a single man.)

Full report in the next AFS. I'll write it up tomorrow.

My favorite Turbojugend moment was when that girl came up to us while we were talking and asked us if we were going to Nashville. You sent her to Turbojugend and we gave each other an "uh oh" look. I wanted to laugh so hard.

I was shocked that Turbojugend(s) still exist.

A 4-way split 7" with Ty Segall, The UV Race, Armitage Shanks, and the Strapping Fieldhands.

Thanks again for the ride last night, Rick. You're the best.

That post looked pity party in retrospect but let me clarify, by friend, I mean cab partner(s) so I don't go broke.

Good lord as in you feel sorry for me or that I'm pathetic. I'll take either.

So my friend who was supposed to meet me here might not be able to make it because of personal reasons and I'm already in Memphis. In my room watching Juwanna Mann. Who wants to be my friend for the weekend?

Cheap Time gets better every time I see 'em. Can't wait (for them and the rest as well).

What is the location of the Dairy House relative to the Motel 6 and the Hi-Tone?
14
Four Loko is the new Faygo.
15
Oh shit, they're playing THERE? That's fucking nutso, can't wait.
