The Dave Edmunds songs kind of bring down the Rockpile album.

Aside from the first two songs on Dave Edmunds first solo record, the rest is crap.

Just read the article. What's a cosplayer, as in "you don't want to look like a cosplayer"? All those pants look like they're on the verge of becoming crust shorts.

When I lived in Portland this girl that lived in the same house brought some crust kids over. I can't remember which roommate said it to them but someone said, "Hey, you guys wanna wash your clothes, or those pants at least?!" To this one of the crust kids said, "no way am I ever washing these pants, this filth is my integrity," and my roommate replied "well your integrity fucking stinks!" We had a helluva time getting them, their stinky integrity's and their dog out of our house. They wouldn't leave on their own accord, and after a week we had to force them out, make them get all their stuff, put 'em in a car, drive 'em downtown and drop them off on the street. It was very awkward, like abandoning your children or something.

If you don't feel like reading, it's basically people who dress up as cartoon/comic book/etc characters.

Jeff was trying to do an lp before he left but he ran out of time. I think he still might be trying to record the lp in Japan but I wouldn't count on anything. The few new songs I heard before he left were really great too. There definitely won't be any tours any time soon. He's in a new band in Japan. I haven't talked to him in a couple of months though so I have no idea how thats going.

Anyone know any info about his new band in Japan?

Is there an official release (or decent bootleg) of this documentary on DVD or VHS?

Thanks

Are any other of the "Tokyo Rockers" era bands worth checking out? There is another video on youtube by a band called SPEED and it's pretty good.

The Dawn of the Dead re-make isn't that great. Zombies DON'T run!

Wild Zero is fun, especially if you play the drinking game that goes along with the movie.

Versus is another great Japanese zombie movie.

It would be nice to see Chungking Express on Blu-Ray

All region DVD players are easy to find, but make sure they can switch the TV signal as well, as some foreign DVDs are in PAL format, instead of NTSC. I hear you can unlock the Playstation 2 to play any region DVD.

On the topic of VHS: A few years ago the local Walmart announced that it was stopping all sales of VHS tapes. The local news channel came to the video store that I worked at an interviewed me for about 15 minutes. I watched the news that night and they showed a clip of me saying "maybe some older people will be angry" and they ended the story with me laughing and saying "enjoy your VHS while you can"
