I doubt he will lead off, as Granderson is not really a lead off hitter, and Jeter is a much better option. Granderson cannot hit lefties, does not walk much, and although fast, does not get good jumps while trying to steal. Last year was the first year he was not platooned and was forced to hit lefties, therefore you saw a spike in HR's (more ab's), but a drop in batting average. I do agree that 30hr, 80rbi, over 100 runs, and 20sb are right, but he cannot hit .300 unless he is being platooned and avoiding left handed pitching.

With Curtis Granderson now on the Yanks he went from a player I wouldn't draft with Vinnie's Dick to someone I would consider in the 5th round. He's gonna hit 25-30 HR and score a shitload of runs for sure.

Not really following you here. He already hit to 25-30 HR per year and scored a tons of runs in Detroit.  In his first four full seasons he averaged 24 hr and 104 runs scored per.

While we are at it, lets talk about Christian Black Metal, or "White Metal." There is a label called something like e.e.e. that puts it out. I heard a band called Light Shall Prevail that has an album called "Defeat the Reign of the Horned One Through the Light of Christ." It was okay as far as black metal goes.
Still, I cannot imagine loving Christ so much that I have to express it through metal.

One thing is for certain, the incident officially ends Mike Huckabee's 2012 presidential aspirations. On the good side, more Capital Offense: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOZN20ZNgtc

He used to live above the Jimmy John's on campus. He would often would stand in his window, with full face paint on, at laugh at all below him.

Pretty drunk.

Listening to The Goslings "Grandeur of Hair."

You know, if someone forced me to make a best of the decade list, this would be right up there. It is so loud and distorted and beautiful.

While we are at it, can we talk about how great this album is:

"I Got Grapes" is probably the best song of the decade and the Keak the Sneak tracks are fantastic.

Is it just me or is the mix on the new album really weak? You cannot hear anything except extremely loud vocals. The rest of the band is barely there. Listen to this album, then put on Celebration. Hear a difference?

Diamond Dogs.

The Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (reprise) is the best work Bowie has ever done.

After that Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane, Low, and Pin Ups.

Drving by this summer and only seeing a small fraction of the stadium left was pretty depressing. Good thing they finally finished it off because Detroit needs another vacant lot in Corktown. Though my memories of Jim Walewander will always keep Tigers stadium alive in my heart.

So they are reunited with the classic lineup for a fall tour in 2009 and are playing in Detroit in October. I am thinking of going, but I fear how awful it possibly could be. Especially because Built To Spill will be playing as well, Ugh.

Has anybody seen them play lately? Is it worth going? Will one of my favorite bands ever completely let me down?

Is there a good book about Sly and the Family Stone? I have heard rumors, but my search has come up short.
