There's no arguing their older stuff is better, I don't deny that at all.

I just haven't listened to them in a while and happened across Flamejob a couple days ago in my CDs...it depends on the mood I'm in but there are at least one or two tracks on that album that I like listening to.

Of course, even their really bad albums have a few decent tracks on them. Can't say that for many bands.

yup, get something prelawsuit

Exactly. The How to Make a Monster compilation has a few studio tracks from '82 or so that seems to indicate the direction the band would of went if not for the lawsuit and Kid Congo quitting. I think they would of had one or two more great albums in them. Too bad.

Also the Cramps - All Tore Up. So fantastic.

I recently unearthed my copy of Flamejob and gave it a listen.  Forgot how much I like the Cramps.

As a confused teenager who wanted to get into the Cramps, I mistakenly bought a copy of Flamejob because it was the only Cramps cd Allied had. It was fucking awful, still is. Turned me off the Cramps for five years.

I am on a big Roxy Music kick. I have had a few of their albums for years, but just did not get it. It recently clicked for some reason.
I also dragged out the first three Pere Ubu records and now hear how much Roxy's music influenced their work. I feel so stupid for missing it for so long.

Also the Cramps - All Tore Up. So fantastic.

I wish the whole, "Check out my ironic 1980's Rick Moranis frames" trend would die.

I predict in two years Officer Officer Officer Brad X will suffer cirrhosis or a heart attack.

It is spoken....

I predict you getting a swift, direct kick in the pants if we ever meet in person.

Come, on! Officer Brad can take a joke, why can't you?

Yeah, but at the same time how do you know they are not working for that state trying to bust people in this kind of situation? As a bartender, I would take no chances. There are insane fines and jail sentences for serving people illegally, and in Illinois it is illegal to serve a patron without an ID. She did not have one.
Of course it is ridiculous, stupid, and probably fascist, but I would guess the dude was just trying to save his own ass, his job, and his place of employment.

I guess I have a hard time understanding why a band from Toledo never actually plays in Toledo?

I've seen 'em in Toledo a few times.

I have played with them at least 5 times in Toledo, always at this same sports bar.  The only turnout every time has been about 5-10 people/friends, a whole bunch of biker dudes, and this one 16 yr old kid who is obsessed with David Bowie.  Afterparty is always killer though, Teets hooks it up.

I know this. But, how about in the past 6 months???
Seriously guys move away from Woodchucks and at least play to a crowd of confused hipsters at Ottawa or Wesleys.

?I worked with Don Denkinger. I know what he went through, but I had never had a moment like this until tonight,? said the 54-year-old Joyce, who became a full-time major league umpire in 1989 and has worked two World Series, 11 other playoff series and a pair of All-Star games.

Don Denkinger extended a series by one game ("if the Cardinals were batting better than .122 in the Series, there would have been no need for a Game 7 either.").

Joyce blew the 21st perfect game in MLB history and the first in Tigers history.

As a Tigers fan who watched the game, cooked my chicken curry an hour too long, did not dare leave the kitchen, and forced my wife to keep my son awake, I am heartbroken.

Wife and I just watched Dig! on Hulu while we were stealing free wireless at the Lake. Such terrible bands, such an insanely great documentary. We paused for a second thinking it was all just an act, but nobody who makes that bad of music would do that right?
