Dunno how that slipped past my radar!
I read an interview somewhere that Fred had called him up & asked him to play drums & Kelly said he was a primarily a bass player, but he said he'd do it, so he picked up a snare & just started practicing ... so, that's where I got that from.
still confused why would VICE take an interest in them. No offense, like em, saw Dead Moon prolly 20 times and was fortunate enogh to catch the Arrows in PDX a year ago while visiting a friend. But wouldnt think it'd be a big seller w/ VICE community,
At the expense of sounding like a name-dropping douchebag, I literally had this exact same conversation w/ King Khan 24 hours ago (he was just as perplexed at this whole thing as well) ... sounds like whoever the guy was that put together the Vice/Scion festival has somewhat of a history with these Montreal garage bands & I know some of the Spaceshits (Khan included) wrote for Vice at one time ... maybe there's something to that in there? It'd probably be a tough sell if not for the Dead Moon legacy & the fact that to the Vice community will latch on to the "coolness" in that ...
... & definitely the fact that The Black Lips holds them in high regard doesn't hurt.
