Music Shit / Re: The Calamities from France- anybody heard of them?

It's a charming light female powerpop LP. Grab it, if it's not too expensive (the 1st frnch edit is the nicest one).
It goes like this : "Toute les Nuits" -> http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=BfU4f64N7sY

yeah, that's how I was with Yes Sir, I Will, but what I'm saying is that I was sorely mistaken, and you are as well, especially if that's the one you chose to keep. What are you a Riot Grrl?
Much worse!

Crass - Feeding of the 5000 (I never stopped listening to Crass but for a while I was kinda hooked on Yes Sir, I Will and then I started listening to Stations again, but lately it's been all about Feeding. It's got a raw immediecy that is different from those other two.)

The rest of the stuff I've been listening to everyone else is probably listening to already, so whatev.

I used to listen to Crass a lot when I was 20 years youger... But, finally, I just kept the "Penis Envy" album.

That's their only one which i've never tracked down!

Me too: I received it today. It was the last one missing!!!
And... forget about it, it really sucks (except for one or two mediocre tracks).

Music Shit / Re: Wire - Chairs Missing

Colin Newman always has been the frontman; Bruce Gilbert was the guitarist

Ouais, ouais... I know!

Quote
One announcement we can make right away, however, is that due to Bruce Gilbert's resignation from the group in 2004, upcoming Wire gigs will have Margaret Fiedler McGinnis augmenting the band on rhythm guitar. Known for her work in Laika (masterminds of one of the best Wire covers to date, the Whore version of German Shepherds), her live credentials are further enhanced by her being a part of PJ Harvey's touring band earlier in the decade.

well, when I saw them, Bruce was still in the band; he's the skinny gray-haired (former) guitarist with glasses, right?

He was still in the band when I saw them, too.  I just don't think I like them going on without him.  A new full length is coming out soon, I guess.  I'll judge them then, I guess.

Not a good news: Again, Bruce Gilbert left the band.
Wire will play the next week in Lyon (FR) fronted by Colin Newman...
