Radio Birdman really sucks! I'm not joking either. I hate Radios Appear.

never understood their appeal. I don't hate radios appear but it bores me (which is probably worse)

talking heads - fear of music
the kid creole influence on this record is unbearable

the trypes - the explorers hold
pretty good but I was surprised that I knew it too much, as I seldom listened to it

kurt vile - constant hitmaker
excellent

saw cheveu yesterday, with special guests sister iodine
that was an awesome double bill which shows more than tangential lines in those scenes. the coord place has gotten better since the makhno/minitel gig that was their first, specially having the players space moved further and in a corner makes it more forthcoming... still bit of a crappy sound (more of a drag for sister iodine than cheveu), but all in all the crowd was way into both bands. they both did brilliant energizing sets...in their own way

one of the cheveu songs sounded to me like a cover of "pablo picasso" (or "roadrunner" ?), should have asked them really but we were too busy discussing techno

Hell, I am puzzled why Guy would tout Blondie over Telephone.
it's not only a local issue, it's also because of the context of that particular gig
the television concert (stunning set played by a bunch of guys whose only stage move was hush puppy floor tapping) at the olympia happened in '77
we were punks, the telephone fans were soft rock corporate hippies. so we're at war and, like it or not, blondie at the time had that punk aura to them: our side

and I still like "in the sun"

the guitar player used to be in Shakin' Street by the way, before they record.

he even played the mont de marsan festival with shakin street... which were fun and much better than telephone ever were

Worth 2 dollars?

this band is a disgrace to France!
Perhaps the worst thing about them was when they replaced Blondie as opening band for Television at the Olympia. Can't help but think that some marketing geezer thought it was a great bill...

they are a crap band and this record alone will kick any collection's cred 2 notches down
