Emmy's for a big group is pretty hard. I went with eight people once and after waiting over an hour we ended up split up into two booths. It's right by the Knockout and has great, inexpensive food, but you could end up waiting a while b/c they don't take reservations.

Puerto Alegre is good for sit-down Mexican food. It can get really crowded and sometimes there's a wait, but the food's pretty darn good.

Real Guitars and Rocker Guitars are pretty great if you're looking for guitars/amps, and Sam Adato's drum shop is good, too, though kinda expensive.

There's also a pawn shop around 18th/Mission that is pretty much all instruments, amps, gear, etc. I forget the exact name, but it's the only one with the most guitars in the window (if that helps).  Here's addresses:

Real Guitars - 15 Lafayette Street btw. Minna St & Mission St
Rocker Guitars - 1350 Howard St btw. Dore St & Grace St
Sam Adato's drums - 283 9th Street (btw. Folsom and Howard)

got mine today. Matador needs a lesson in packing records.
Yup.  I got an awesome limited edition bent coner/fucked up sticker! LUCKY ME!

Yeah, mine was wrapped in newspaper stuffed in one of those manila padded envelopes, and the corners are all bent up.

Hi everyone, lurker here that finally got around to registering.

Anyway, the Millionaires were from San Diego and I saw them a few times. The last time was opening for the Cramps in 2003 (also with Quintron and Miss Pussycat), but I haven't heard of them doing much since then.  They used to have a web site up that was something like millionairesrock.com, but it appears to be no longer up. They did have a full length out too. They were great live, and the singer was a borderline tranny that always used to flash his balls.
