On October 21st from 6pm to 9:30 we're holding an in store record release/art show/signing for the new Void collection collection of early demos, out-takes and live tracks coming out on Dischord.

We'll be posting some additional really cool details in the next week or so but as it stands at the very least you'll be able to get the album early and have it signed by and shoot the breeze with Bubba and Chris from the band. RSVP to the Facebook thing and you'll get the updates as they come in. We're working on some really cool stuff you probably won't want to miss.

Artists confirmed so far for the art portion of the show include; Brian Walsby, Tim Kerr, Pat Delaney, Mike Sutfin, Chris Shary, Billy Spraque, Rich Jacobs, Jocko Weyland and more coming! There's a few big ones on the line that hopefully come through! More to be announced soon.

Spread the word if you can!

We're taking pre-orders for the debut 7" from Elvis Christ. We did 100 on mystery colored vinyl and 400 on black. We expect to start shipping October 4th! Head over to http://www.1234gorecords.com/catalog to order. Now the description and other crap...

Rock'n'roll savior from the heavens below! EC is the rotten lo-fi rock'n'roll brainchild of Jason Testasecca. JT is half of "Mandy & Jason" who's tape you may have heard from Burger Records, a touring member of the Nobunny band in various roles at various times and recording engineer to the stars (Midnight Snaxxx, Goochi Boiz and many others). Get in this golden chariot and ride to salvation.

We're taking pre-orders for the new/old Unnatural Helpers LP! We did 100 on mystery colored vinyl and 400 on black. We expect to start shipping October 4th! Head over to http://www.1234gorecords.com/catalog to order. Now the description and other crap...

What is technically their first LP (with added previous unreleased tracks) but coming out well after their debut "Cracked Love and Other Drugs" on Hardly Art. Rob Vertigo stared directly in to a photograph of Dean Whitmore for 3 full days and wrote this about what you can expect.

________________________ ________________________ ______________________

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Seattle has had just a handful of stellar bands this past decade.

(Ouch. Rub them the bruises.)

And the Unnatural Helpers, at one point or another, have contained members from ALL OF THEM. Seriously. More line-up changes than the Intelligence, I tell ya. The only constant being Dean Whitmore. The ringleader. The songwriter. The drummer/singer. Like that dude from Night Ranger.

Somehow Dean has wrung out of his ADD riddled wet-lobes more catchy tracks than one would think imaginable. Seemingly hundreds since his first foray into 4-track. But catchy don't mean just simple or clean. There's a history of Pacific NW grime, grit and a snarling wry wit caked under his fingernails. Just because his calloused hands bleat out garage perfection doesn't mean something clattery, weird or dark isn't gonna' be around the bend. Angular knee-jerk rock, Fuzz-muffed and Muddled-ga-runge, overcast punkish gloom, heavy stoner chug, Sonics soulful belting, Redd Kross speed and sugar crunched pop. The whole fawking caboodle is on the table. And this carry-on contains HITS. Someday hopefully this eclectic Helpers catalog will be remembered and/or regarded as important as the works of elder-punks Rob Vasquez (who?! Go learn something kids...it's HISTORY), Kurt Bloch or even Fred Cole. If we know what's best. This is the type of music-stuff that rings loudly in HATE's flannel-wrapped Buddy Bradley's brain, if that old dweeb even listens to R&R anymore.

And now - almost 10 years since the Helpers initial "forming" - it seems like the world (uh...Northern, California) is about to catch on. Who's in the line-up? What roll of the multi-sided dye are they gonna' bring? Who the fuck cares? IT'S ALL GOOD.

Wow I made it thru that without ever mentioning my girly love of Double Fudge. (Oops. Shit.)

-Rob Fletcher aka: Robvertigo aka: Fudge-carrying fanboy.

Tommorrow at 1-2-3-4 Go! The Arrivals, Underground Railroad To Candyland and Only The Messenger will be at 1-2-3-4 Go! in Oakland at our new location. Starts at 6:30. Bring cash for the bands and records. No smoking or drinkin'. Sorry. Show will be over around the time the other shows around here are starting so you won't really miss anything if you want to go to both. New location is at 420 40th across the street from our old one.
51
We're going to doing a trial run of our new show space Satruday July 23rd with King Khan and The Coathangers. The space is still pretty raw but it's a lot bigger than our current store. Show is free and starts at 5pm SHARP.  Coathangers are first. The new space is located at 420 40th Street #5 right across the street from our current location.
52
We'll be holding a record swap/flea market deal inside The Metro in Oakland from Noon to 4pm before the Zero Boys show. Tables are $30. Admission is free. Please contact store@1234gorecords.com to reserve a table.
53
1-2-3-4 Go! Records is moving across the street from it's current location and will be open for business there on August 1st barring anything tragic and weird. The demo work on the new place is pretty much done and they're starting work on some of the finer touches this week. Our new address is 420 40th Street, Unit #5, Oakland, CA 94609. Yes?that is the real address. Please continue to send mail to 423 40th Street for the time being if you need to.

Why the move? What's so great about this new space? Well let me tell you.

First, It's a bigger, better configured space for the shop so we'll be able to bring in more stock and display what we have a lot better. Pretty sweet!

Second, the space contains a separate room that we?ll be using as a gallery and show space! This build out may take a little longer than the store front but we're hoping to start having events in late August.  Just by eyeballing I'd say it's like a 100 to 150 person kinda place max. But that?s looking at it with no stage or anything else in it. We may do a free show dry run in the rough unfinished space during our anniversary shows (http://www.1234gorecords.com/anniversary) to get a better feel for it. When everything is set we plan on doing no fewer than 2 shows a month with the top end around 6 to 8. Don't want to blow out the neighborhood too much. Hoping to be in full swing by September. I don't want to start booking shows until the space is 100% and we?ve worked out any kinks, so I can't guarantee you a show at the moment if you're coming through. I'll make another announcement when we're ready. This is going to be a legit all ages spot. So no drinking or what not in the space or the store. And unless it?s what the band prefers we?re not really going to do a ?pass the hat? kind of situation. Shows will be reasonably priced. Equivalent to what you see at Gilman etc. Some of the finer details are still unknown or are in flux and will be worked out over the next month or so as we get it together. Anyway the spot is Air Conditioned which will be killer in the summer and Homeroom (a restaurant on our block) is going to open a beer garden directly outside the store/show space. So if you want to grab a few beers between bands or before you go record shopping you can! I?m not sure what their time frame on that is but I believe they want to get that going ASAP for the summer.

I would like to bring on a few people to book shows in this new space to ensure that we?ve got a variety of shows going on.  I want it to be a bit ?curated? but I don?t necessarily want it to be dominated by my personal tastes either. So if you?re local and you have experience booking and would like to come check out the space and possibly come on board PM me.

So I'm doing a bulk order of the custom 7" mailers that Sub Pop (more famously) and I use. They're 8.25 by 8.25 self seal mailers. Fits up to 3 standard size singles comfortably and you can probably cram in more if you're so inclined and based on what your sleeves are like. I like these mailers alot. Way better than the Gatorpak ones that were floating around before they decided to make them just too small for a 7".

Since it's a custom job they have a minimum of 2500 pieces so I figured I'd see if anyone wanted in on the order. They're 60cents a piece plus shipping. You can order in qty's of 50, 100, 500, 1000+. If we can get up to 10000 peices I'll drop the price to 40cents a piece. I'll be holding on to 2k of these so If between the rest of you we can get up there that'd be cool.

Turn around is about 4 weeks from the time I place the order since they are making them from scratch. These will ship from me when they arrive. Get ahold of me at store@1234gorecords.com if you're interested.
55
I wanna get at ya. I'm in the market for this thing. Needs to be original and clean though. Shoot me a PM or email me at store@1234gorecords.com.

It has come to pass that we need another round of Love Visions LP's and this time we're doing 500 on Lavender vinyl with new inner labels because why not?

Same great music, new labels and color. Taste the rainbow...or something

http://www.1234gorecords.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=1330&zenid=bc11951452b4a3b5df6232ce60e2948b

I actually expect this in a few weeks but I put the 30th on it just in case Nashville floods or burns or somethin' who knows what plague the gods will unleash on the south next. The band should have these for their upcoming tour if you want to just wait and get it from them too. No biggie.

We're trying to blow out a ton of dead stock to make room for new stuff so we've discounted a lot of this stuff to almost wholesale costs or even below. It's actually a lot of decent stuff (some crap obviously) it's just been hanging around too long or we bought too many. After this weekend a lot of what's left will hopefully be going back to distributors. If you'd like to order something PM me or email me at 1234stevo@gmail.com with your address and what you want and I'll get back to you with a qoute. If you live in the states and spend more than $50 shipping will be free.
