Non-Music Shit / Re: Basketball

With my sketchy personal coverage of the NBA (hey, I've gotta track whether Bonds is gonna play a day game after an extra-inning night game, I bet no...) it seems to me that the mystery team in the West is the Rockets. It seems like they can beat anyone they want if they 'feel' like it. I wouldn't want to play those guys.
As a part time Magic fan, I'm always skeptical of McGrady in the playoffs.

Congrats to all the Warriors fans on here. This could be one of the more interesting 1-8 series in a while.

So how did the King Khan & BBQ recordings come out? It was my recollection the sound f-ed up on just about every song.

i think the "hippys/born to be your man" single sounds great both production- and songwise,  but i agree on the others execpt maybe "wild man". btw has "she's not white" been recorded properly by black lips?
I'd like to hear a studio version of the song on the WFMU set that's called MIA that's not MIA.

katrina hasn't gotten the proper treatment yet though. the thing about the black lips is that each of their studio albums has had PERFECT fuckin production for the band at that time. i'm not so interested in this vice live album, because i want to hear the new stuff.  i won't be a bit surprised when the next album is even better than the previous one.
I saw them twice in a row 2-3 weeks ago and they played a lot of new songs - Bad Kids, Buried Alive, and a few others I don't know the names yet. I think it's entirely possible the new studio album will be their best. From what I gather it's all home recordings so don't expect a compromised sound.

The best advice for making fast money is waiting tables or bartending. You're not going to be able to get The Man to pay you anything significant at this stage. Ultimately with your credentials if you want to get paid by The Man, you need to find a big university or finance type company and take whatever low level job you can get. Once you're in, you'll realize that at least 50% of the people there are incompetent and then you can find a way to work your way up.

They try and sell run of the mill 90s 7"s for $7-10. Pisses me off.

The last two times I saw them they played a song Jared sings that sounds like it may be called 'Find A Place' and it is friggin' awesome in the 'Born To Be A Man' vein.
