Am I the only person here that doesn't like Roky's post-Elevators material?
I don't put him on the level a lot of people seem to but I enjoy his post-Elevators material as much as his early stuff (both basically hit or miss for me). I Walked With A Zombie and Don't Shake Me Lucifer are amazing.

Wizards - I have a higher opinion of them. Arenas is one of the top scorers in the league coming off a playoffs coming out party, Jamison is a nice big man to complememt him and Eddie Jordan is one of the better coaches around.
I'm not right very often but I'm feeling pretty good about my Wizards proclaimation right now. Arenas is playing at a near MVP level, Caron Butler made the all star team (as far as I know Jared Jeffries hasn't done anything with the Knicks) and Eddie Jordan coached in the all star game.

The Pinhead Gunpowder CD on Lookout! with the first few 7"s and other stuff is really good representation of that scene. I believe they did a fair mount more after Green Day got big and it isn't so good.

It's been my observation SLC has the hottest and most wholesome looking alterna chicks I've seen anywhere.

I'm saving my 90s-era moolah for a nice shiny copy of the Gibson Bros 'Dedicated Fool'. Someday.

Does that go for some coin? I picked it up in Denver 3-4 years ago for $5 or so.

When I was in high school I listened to a lot of the FYP/Recess Records type raw, sloppy punk bands and Scared of Chaka was one of my faves. I loved Hutch Brown Sayngwich and the first 7"s but didn't really dig anything after that. I haven't listened to them in close to 10 years now. I would have liked to have seen them.

I saw them February or March of 2002 in Denver and thought they were amazing. I wasn't that into the singer, but thought both guitarists and the drummer wailed. I haven't heard the Under My Tongue 7", but all the records I have heard haven't grabbed me.

BA in Japanese from U of Florida, almost a MS in Construction Management from Colorado State. I definitely agree with Scott. My post-grad work is what got me a job, but my undergrad is what taught me how to think and see things analytically. Plus Florida is a lot better school. However, have fun explaining you went to college to expand your horizons to someone interviewing you who was a total pre-professional non-liberal arts student.

Their undoing last year was that they were the worst defensive team in the league, and they lost their best defender by letting Jeffries slip away to the Knicks. Both parties were stupid in that decision!
They have Caron Butler which has to be seen as an upgrade over Jeffries. That's a pretty good defensive presence to keep any star wing player in check.

Heat - I see them making the playoffs with like a 7 seed because Wade is just too good, but I can see Shaq slowing down with less to prove and a lot of the veterans who took on smaller roles last season being bigger pains in the ass this season with rings. And you never know how the injury bug may affect a team like this. Aside from Wade, Udonis Haslem is the only contributor under 30.
