So, in the end, the Meaty Buys 'Cut a Fart' ep is considered one of America's 3rd largest citie's best punk 7's? Well, I guess that about deserves three fingers blown off on the fourth.
Also bizzarre in that both Fat Mike and Ben Weasel are making "adult music" -- in the case of the former, music about S&M and advanced sexual perversity and refs to heavy, long-term drug use, and in the case of the latter, existential crises and etc. -- but most of their fanbase is comprised of 16-year-olds. Obviously there are middle-aged idiots looking to reprise their youth in there, but it's so strange. Someone like Taylor Swift is making music that's intended, from the instrumentation to the lyrics, for a teen audience, but bands like NOFX & Screeching Weasel continue to make music as if their crowds are growing with them, and by and large, they aren't. I also realize this is a stupid post.
yeah its pop punk....its hard to say what fits what nowadays
where do you draw the line between fast powerpop and pop punk, I guess
Most of it is pop punk. If there's no discernible 60s influence, it's probably pop punk.
Have any of you watched footage of Lydon being interviewed from the last ten years or so? He's a proper diva. It's great.

Any idea who dienastypunk is? Listed like 27 records off my wantlist in a day etc.
just was thinking of first time i saw baseball furies, in green bay. they were on stage gettin' ready to start, looking menacing, song clicks in or whatever and within 3 seconds Jimmy was flipping out and jumped backwards into his amp and knocked the whole thing over and the band screeched to a halt. fucking awesome. he was playing a pink bass.
only crazier, similar instance i remember was watching CPC Gangbangs in montreal, and Roy knocked over his microphone and broke his guitar like a fucking madman...during sound check.

Unfortunately, there's a great loss of material: gone are dozens if not hundreds of photos, various bulletins, scandalous tour updates.
I have a preserved memory of Derek offering, for days on end, to steal an entire shopping cart full of food for our apartment -- and then sheepishly begging a ride to the store and buying ingredients for chicken fettuccine alfredo instead.
