Going to see the Jays / Red Sox exhibition games in Montreal this weekend.  Pretty stoked.  Its the 3rd year in a row they're doing these, and the Saturday game is already sold out.  The Big O is a horrible venue for pretty much anything, but the noise and echo in that dump when there is 40,000 plus in there is MASSIVE.

Shaun, how were the games?  hope you guys get your baseball back....

thanks for offer, may take you up on that.  Not really tryin' to hawk em' though just want em out of my house.  I guess when you see a good amount of them it feels wasteful to throw them all out.

I am currently doing some spring cleaning and I have about 50 or 60+ (who knows) record mailers I've been hoarding that are used but could definitely be resourced/reused and possibly save the shipper or buyer some costs.

let me know if interested and we can work something out for pick up.
I live in San Francisco, you can direct message me, my email is also in my profile, or if you got my number just call.

This isn't really about the Saints...it didn't really dig that deep into the early days at all.  It's more about the political climate and the usual incomplete punk history....ramones in NY, pistols in London...blah blah

I haven't watched this new one yet, but here is a different one that kinda follows there early coming up years....

I'll keep and listen to his records, because the unfortunate fact is if I ran my music collection as a strict moral crusade I'd be left with Pat Boone, Amy Grant and new age synth. And then find out that the new age guy was a secret kid toucher...

haha!

Gimme a break, all this over a goddamn man bun/top knot?? definitely not a "gay" thing and strictly associating it to homosexuality actually seems a bit more homophobic.  What's the truth I see is predominately straight groups of 4 or 5+ males of all types including "rock douches" hitting the streets some who don't even have long enough hair for a proper man bun and they look like goddamn pebbles from the flinstones.
I kick it with queers everyday and live and work in a neighborhood that has a big LGBT community of all colors and creeds.  I live with a gay guy, 2 of my closest friends are queers, my cousin cross town is a raging bull dyke, and I'm pretty sure my brother has sucked a few dicks.  I can not say I know one pinche' maricon with this beloved hairstyle, man bunners may look like fags, but are definitely not queer.  Maybe it's regionally gay, ha? but I see it as some sort of obvious trend/phase like shants or the Von Dutch hat.....

anyways RIP to anyone who feels they need to take their own life cause they don't feel like they can be themself or be comfortable to just let their hair down and be themself in 2015. (no pun intended) sorry for anyones loss, cruel world.

Did you check out any of the recent shows??  I was skeptical about Trey, but he fit in very well.

Trey held it down with guitar and vocals, he did a great job.  I was actually gratefully (no pun) surprised since I had never been a fan of phish and my only exposure to him really was that Oysterhead shit he did with Les Claypool like 15 yrs ago cuz we had to play a promo at work.
It seemed they were all having a blast and Trey got to play and fill in for his heros.

I went day 2 in Santa Clara at the new Levi's Stadium which was undeniably amazing. 2nd day was a big mix of songs spanned over the decades, I heard Day 1 was mostly prior to like '72, wish I coulda done both.  I got last minute tix on stubhub for like 25 bux.
hung out in the lot for a bit - edibles, face melting, nitric, bootleg shirts, grilled cheese, 2 for 1 beers...etc were all there to be had.
weather was perfect and the set was even better...  some highlights...
walked up to meet the masses while junk/funk 'feel like a stranger' started, felt surreal. I had never been to a concert with over 80k people in the building.  3rd song 'Brown Eyed Women' seemed  to settle everyone in, those beginning chords just took over.
They played one of my all timers 'Loser'  off Jerry's 1st solo and Bruce Hornsby fuckin' held down the vocals, he definitely had everyone at that moment.  'Alabama Getaway' had the crowd going nuts, never seen such giant smoke clouds. 'Row Jimmy Row was pretty sick, babes crying everywhere, ha!  'Black Peter' was great as well.  'He's Gone'  was great with Hornsby and Weir bouncing back vocals.
They did a Rev Gary Davis cover i'd heard them do but i know its a go to for them 'Death don't have no mercy'.... next followed 'Sugar Magnolia' which got every buddy dancing again. 'Brokedown Palace' was the Encore and it was perfect!

I used to be a dead hater, it just wasn't cool fuck hippys the whole bit. I get it.  Worked with some dirt merchant one summer at a record store and used to berate him about his bullshit and then he played me 'Garcia'. That album stuck in my head, I couldn't deny it and several months later discovered like the first 5 dead albums in my buddys collection started listening and I couldn't deny it. Motherfuckers can play, Pigpen was a beast, Bill and Mickey hold it down, definitely hear some Psych Surf stuff out of early shit, then progress into some Country-blues twang.  I never got too into the junked out jammy later shit always been into the studio albums.

I think people are afraid to appreciate the music cause of the stigma the mass fanbase may have created.
