welcome to the new world my dude. just opted out of a free ride moments ago cause im not down and still support a "cash is king" policy.
anyways... we've been dealing with this shit in SF for some time now (uber, lyft, sidecar), they are all bullshit and are taking jobs from working class drivers. I have seen/known more than several career drivers that have left the city or are severely struggling cause of these ride apps that are cheaper.... Taxi companies (we have co-op ones as well) are all suffering, its a shame. Working in bars/clubs I depend on these folks getting me home in the late/early hours. flagging a cab is getting harder and harder, and the cabbies i once knew dont bother with the night hours and opt for the busy dwntwn BS these days. My one main concern though is is coverage. there is numerous pending lawsuits and the city is taking notice but they tend to be slow with anything thats not progressive, lgbt, federal, etc related. I thought all it would take would be a couple deaths to sort this out, but its been the opposite. more and more people are jumping in these cars cause its 25% cheaper and they dont have to tip (sounds like some niggger shit to me).....
