Music Shit / Re: Italian punk?

Thanks fellas.  Italian language stuff would be great, but I know a lot of Euro Punks sing in English anyway.  Mostly just trying to catch up on Italian punk stuff, as I seem to be a budding Italophile.

Music Shit / Italian punk?
« on: May 28, 2015, 11:04:05 AM »
I started learning Italian this year, and I guess I'm getting "pretty alright" at it, all modesty aside.  As far as punk/weirdo music goes, Italian is not a country I'm well versed in the musical history of, and it might possibly be a good aid in learning the language if I had some lyrics to yell along to.  But if not, I'd still love some recommendations of Italian punk, hardcore, weirdo music from any of you know-it-alls!  60's to present day, you know the drill.

There's a moment in "Lunatic" on Don Cherry's Symphony for the Improvisers where it sounds like Pharoah Sanders is splitting a small animal -- a cat, or perhaps a mongoose -- apart with his mouth. That's been the best thing I've heard today. Fairly "out" for Blue Note.

interesting observation. besides ornette's "love call," dolphy's "out to lunch" and wayne shorter's "the all seeing eye," what are the other "out" blue note albums? come to think of it, that shorter album isn't even very far gone. it's just deep.

Jackie McLean's Let Freedom Ring, One Step Beyond and Destination... Out! (among others), Tony (as Anthony) Williams' Lifetime, those early Bobby Hutcherson albums, and Eddie Gale's Ghetto Music.

Don Cherry "Where Is Brooklyn?" (1966) would be another example.

Crisis be rad.  Its pretty embarrassing whenever you hear a band that sounds like them though - use moderation much? Just listened to those Institute tracks.
Definitely some riff-robbing going on, but Institute stands on their own.  The vocals make it for me, which dont sound like Crisis at all, more Darby.

Bradshaw, smoke some Christmas trees homie.

Also, seeing Sleaford Mods was one of the best sets I seen all year.  Surprisingly, because I was doubtful that the dude could command a room on his own.

Should note that "Theme from Sparta FC" has become a mixtape staple lately, what a track!
Yeah its a banger, especially when the Oi! style gang vocals come in.  Definitely makes a 'best of' list, whenever I do make a Fall 'best of' list.

I like Fire Walk With Me. It has a couple of really terrifying moments.  Plus, it's a mess and Bowie is in it for a split second, which is amusing.

'Turo, did you ever watch the TV pilot for Mullholland Drive?  Kim's had a bootleg way back.  Must be floating around somewhere.

Didn't know about the bootleg.

I actually like Fire Walk With Me more than the show. Truly creepy and I think it deals with the Bob character/concept better than the show does. Not Lynch's best but the one I've watched the most.

I'm a fan of Lynch's most recent works so I'm sure he can pull off a good show, though I'm really hoping it just follows James around on his bike as he gets into wacky adventures each episode.

FWWM is great, truly creepy, but I wouldn't really compare it to the series.  They both seem like lesser parts of a greater whole, which hopefully, this new series will seem as well.
