Non-Music Shit / Re: Beer review thread
« on: August 14, 2008, 08:16:31 AM »
had a Lagunitas IPA last night, pretty good, but i prefer Ale Smith http://www.alesmith.com/alesmithipa.html for IPA. these are west coast breweries...

...i've heard so much about Dogfish Head but i can't seem to find it at all. really interested to try some of their beers.

stella is not bad. after drinking IPA and Stouts more frequently though, stella seems almost like a light beer.

ALSO, can someone tell me if they still make these:

i would like to pickup a 12 pack of cans of this. don't know why, i just like it better than in the bottle...

Also if this is still a 900 press, does that mean stores get the other 800?

Not quite, there's the UK, Canada, Jay's copies, Staff copies and and handful of other odds and ends.  After all of that we've got less than 500 for our stores.

dave, do you know if fingerprints in long beach will be getting any copies of #5? they did get copies of #3 but (as far as info i was able to gather) they did not get copies of #4. thanks for the info in advance.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Movies I've been watching

Finally saw Batman Begins.  It sucked.

I totally enjoyed this movie.  Gotta see it again soon.  Loved the new one too.

Batman Begins was fuckin' great, however I thought the new one was not so much.

totally entertaining movies...the first one i give an edge to though because it shows more of the character as opposed to the "action hero," if that makes sense...

also...

Be Kind Rewind: fucking good. i loved it. feel good, goof-off movie making shit.

Ivan's Childhood: andrei tarkovsky's first movie about a 12-year-old russian front line outlook in WWII. great dream sequences contrasted with harsh realities. very good.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Hot Sauce!!!!

fuckin GREAT topic right here. thank you. i don't know about some people, but obviously, the choice of hot sauce can and should be determined based upon the meal you're applying it to.

i don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but pico pica is a good choice for eggs/breakfasts:

i personally keep sriracha to the noodle/asian type dishes BUT a nice secret use for sriracha that may seem a bit weird but is totally fucking genius is tuna salad/tuna sandwiches. for example. here is a recipe for tuna salad that kills:

- 1-2 tablespn sriracha
- 1 tablespn dijon mustard
- 1/3 cup mayo (or less if you dont like mayo)
- 1/3 cup green onions chopped
- can of tuna
- salt & pepper to taste
- 2-3 tablespn dice dill pickle
-- mix it all together, chill and serve over bread, lettuce, etc...

i never really measure out this recipe, kinda of eyeball it, but you get the idea.

Truck Driver for past 8 years--best job I've ever had or could ever envision having.  It's gotten particularly pleasant since I freaked out on my supervisor last month so now he barely talks to me at all.  That's why I'm a truck driver--I don't want to talk to most people.  You are all my enemies when you're in your cars anyway, so it's easier to enjoy the visualization of forcing you into a ditch or guardrail after you cut me off.  Or even the actualization of forcing you into a ditch or guardrail after you cut me off--my semi is bigger than your Hummer, you sorry motherfucker.  The money's good and I get paid to listen to music or the radio all day plus I'm not stuck in a climate-controlled office with a unchanging view or a window I can't open--I'm in complete control of the climate of my moving office and the view changes with every mile.  I'd recommend it to anyone although not everyone can hack it.
