It was interesting to live through the '90s and watch the culture industry completely absorb what we used to call "alternative culture." Maybe your radio brats would benefit from reading some of Thomas Frank's critiques and diatribes from that period... or even Motorbooty, which I think of as the Mad Magazine of the '90s indie underground.

I hate being paranoid about mail carriers.
Dunno about the shutdown from last year, but I was there a few weeks ago, and it was definitely both still open, and chock full of porn! I didn't peruse it, but my fiancee bought one issue of playboy which was as expensive as my entire stack of records.

- Record Recycler 17312 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504
Btw, the record & tape room in long beach is like three blocks from bagatelle. it's not great, and it's having a going out of business sale, but if you make the hour trip (in o.k. traffic) from Amoeba down, it's worth checking out.
I really like Record Recycler, and it's fairly convenient to Record Surplus (i.e. it's off the 405).
Around 11:45 I'll be preordering my lunch from the Chinese place next door. I can get extra stuff if anyone's interested in a trade.
