1. taco trucks fucking suck. should only be used as a late night, after show/after bar/too drunk to think rationally last resort option. fuck these guys and their fucking roach coaches. shit sucks. that shit makes me want to simultaneously puke and shit. they are not cool, at best only half way decent.
2. potato tacos are good. made them last night. used left over baked potato from the night before, sliced it up into small wedges, seasoned with a little salt and pepper, tossed with chipotle tabasco sauce, and fried over high heat with some butter. made at home and no fucking greasy roach legs sticking out of the taco shell.
3. pinks is good occasionally and is definitely NOT worth waiting in a 1-2 hour line. fucking retarded. fucking idiot asshole fuckfaces standing in that line.
4. when does this thread turn into a music thread?

It was interesting to live through the '90s and watch the culture industry completely absorb what we used to call "alternative culture." Maybe your radio brats would benefit from reading some of Thomas Frank's critiques and diatribes from that period... or even Motorbooty, which I think of as the Mad Magazine of the '90s indie underground.
thomas frank is a class act all around...

i'm going to go tomorrow and check it out before the close, right after eating breakfast at the omlete inn next door...

Btw, the record & tape room in long beach is like three blocks from bagatelle. it's not great, and it's having a going out of business sale, but if you make the hour trip (in o.k. traffic) from Amoeba down, it's worth checking out.
I really like Record Recycler, and it's fairly convenient to Record Surplus (i.e. it's off the 405).
does the tape and record room still have the big 'grab bag' bin of used porno vhs tapes? ...that was funny.
imagine: you go to pull one of the tapes out and it's stuck to like three more from dried up cum!!! (i know that wouldn't really ever happen, but still...)
i didn't know it was going out of business...i thought they already got shut down a couple years ago for selling pirated materials, cdrs, bootlegs etc?

too many people tried to pre-order the Schezwan HOT chicken, which resulted in the chinese place being overloaded and it crashed...while trying to place the pre-order over the phone, mr. lee was talking super super slooow and it was taking forever.
other people who wanted beef broccoli or sweet and sour tofu couldn't even order due to all the schezwan pre order people inundating the restaurant.
they called it off and told everyone who wants Schezwan HOT chicken will have to try again tomorrow...
