Non-Music Shit / Mexican midget wrestlers killed by hookers
« on: July 01, 2009, 10:08:49 PM »
Quote
Two mini wrestlers were found dead on Monday in Mexico City not far from Arena Mexico. They were identified as brothers Alberto and Alejandro Jimenez who worked as La Parkita and Espectrito Jr. The press over there is reporting that the wrestlers, both aged 35, picked up two prostitutes and took them to a hotel room, but hours later, the women left alone. When a hotel worker went to clean the room they found the bodies of the wrestlers laying in the beds. At press time autopsies are being carried out but investigators believe the wrestlers overdosed with a combination of ophthalmic-like medicine and alcohol. Apparently this is the common practice of a gang of prostitutes that rob their clients after they pass out from ingesting tainted drinks. The prostitutes were picked up by police for questioning earlier today.

Just saw them sunday and yesterday, fucking amazing, even better than at Gonerfest 5. Sadly only few people saw The Intelligence here in Denmark, so go see the last dates on their euro tour if you can. This band is too good to miss.

Music Shit / What ever happened to good mainstream radio pop?
« on: May 14, 2009, 05:47:02 AM »
Sure we are all underground hipsters, but I bet many of you work where mainstream radio are played all the time. I think it's all become pretty depressing and sterile nowadays, all that horrible 'r&b' with vocal 'diva' gymnastics mixed with Timberland beats, hell, it's not even that catchy as all good pop should to be. Maybe I'm an old cranky fart (I turn 45 today), but I really miss the fun days of Bangles' "Walk Like An Egyptian", "Pop Muzik" (M), "We Got The Beat", ABBA etc. Outkast's "Hey Ya" is probably the only really enjoyable mainstream pop tune I've heard in recent years.

Thoughts? Acapulco?

Non-Music Shit / Woody Harrelson
« on: May 02, 2009, 02:49:22 PM »
Not too crazy about his films, but his personal life is pretty entertaining. Besides being a cannabis activist, he once own an oxygen bar where you could buy air (!), and he defended his recent clash with a photographer at a New York airport as a case of mistaken identity; he says he mistook the cameraman for a zombie.
Quote
"I wrapped a movie called 'Zombieland,' in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character," Harrelson said in a statement issued Friday by his publicist.
Anyone here met him?
