ordered this yesterday. I love the idea. especially jazzed (as I'm sure most are) for the Dead Luke entry. you should get Pink Noise to do one.

or better yet: Factums!

Not sure who number No. 7 and No. 8 are going to be by yet but I have a few ideas. Also people may be interested to know that there is a Zola Jesus/Dead Luke collaborative cassette coming soon on Night People as well.

These will start shipping at the end of the week!

Absinthe Minds "The Black Plague in Mono No. 1" CS30
Jerkwave 005A

Kicking off Jerkwave's "The Black Plague in Mono" tape series is the Absinthe Minds. Featuring electronic and synth dabbler Dead Luke and acousto-folk-protest wunderkind Max Elliott, the Absinthe Minds formulate a type of primal, dark, pounding, synth and acoustic dirge. The A side features three tortured songs about lost love, death, and insanity. While the B side is a live burner with third A. Mind, Chris Rydell, on guitar recorded at Madison's Nottingham Co-op. Starting with simple tones and building into a wall of drums, keyboards, guitars and moans, you can actually feel the room fill with smoke as a trance is invoked. Don't miss out on this one. Go to myspace.com/absintheminds to hear "Lover's Lament" taken from the A side of the tape.

Hanging Coffins "The Black Plague in Mono No. 2"
Jerkwave 005B

Next up in the series is a 30 minute cassette from Eugene Oregon's Hanging Coffins. After some amazing tracks on hard to come by Moonboot Boutique comp the Coffins are back with this first full length offering. The sound members Damon and Cade emit could probably best be described as No Wave in the Old West. You'll hear parts resembling "Confusion is Sex" era Sonic Youth if it were coupled with Neil Young's soundtrack to "Dead Man." A truly original sound that has only left me wanting to hear more and more. Go to myspace.com/thechineezcutupz to hear multiple tracks from the tape. Also a forthcoming single on Sacred Bones.

These are sold together as a two pack. Edition of 40.

Uploaded from a PC. I don't think the songs are in order though. Beggars can't have their songs in order for them...or be choosers!

Hmmm that seems to happen a lot with stuff saved/zipped on Macs. Give me a little bit and I'll upload a zip of the songs from a PC tonight.
