The LP didn't immediately kick me in the dick like the 7" did, but grew on me like a motherfucker. Easily top 5 of '08.

Funny, my roomate think She's A Virgin is their best song.

$20 says Ottawa will be one of the best shows on the whole tour.

Including the after party and I have to WORK the next day which means I'm FUCKED.

Does Roky not do his "Ice Cream Social" anymore during the festival? I went in '06 and it was pretty awesome. Even if it was a suggested donation of $35US.

I haven't heard shit about Devo, Sonics or the Circle Jerks playing anything other than the official showcases as of yet.

Not sure about the Sonics, but I'll bet it's the only show Devo's playing, since they're keynote speakers or whatever...

Music Shit / Power Chords LP

I'll probably get termbo diarrhea sprayed in my face for this, but what the fuck.

Anyone else give a shit about this record? Even though the production is borderline too slick, I think it's one of the best "new school" power pop records I've heard in ages. A little cheesy, but the music insanely original (chord changes, timing etc.) - at least for a pop band.

And I thought their Unattached Strings 7" was great. For those who haven't heard that yet, grab the ripped version here:

Thanks! This band rips. Love the Sub Pop 7". Reminds me of bare-bones version of Mclusky.

My last order was 19 7"s and 10 LP's and somehow after shipping ended up only being like $220 Canadian.

Hands down the best distro, ever. Packaging, reliability, PRICES and the willingness to hold copies. Can't beat that.

I honestly think the layout made things easier. New arrivals don't go un-noticed.

Floridas Dying will be my next go-to distro, and it's great, but I never seem to be on top of new arrivals. Shit moves too fast.

I finally get to see the Hex Dispensers. This is going to rule.

D4 playing at Beerland? Did I read that right? Can't picture them playing there at all.

Question: Are you still able to pay at the door for Beerland night shows? I remember that was the case a few years back, but just want to make sure.

Here's another question, how many people here who AREN'T in bands actually have bracelets/badges?

Also, if there are any lists you guys would recommend being on please post email addresses to RSVP to!

Got the Aussie LP. I'd part with it... got anything cool to trade? What's your offer?

Toronto show was, indeed, great.  Thanks to all the Termbros/Termbroads that came out.

Gentleman Jesse &HM were awesome.  Such amazing songs, no gimmicks.  Paul Collins' set was so much fun and the guys backing him were spot-on.  Killer one/two punch encore of "Hanging On The Telephone" and "Walking Out On Love".

We partied at my house after the show with a bunch of random people and the band.  I took my Music and Popular Culture test still drunk at noon.

BEST PARTY. Thanks for the booze and hangs Mark!

Toronto ruled. Exceeded expectations. I agree that Collins' enthusiam was endearing, and entertaining. His set blew away the stream that was posted earlier in this thread. People were freaking out by the end. Jesse nailed it, as expected. Can't get enough anything him and Dave touch.

Was planning on making it to MTL afterwards but the drive back to Ottawa was enough as it is. Heard the turnout was a little lower than TO, but another killer set.
