Really? Shortwave was one of my favorites off of Cemetery Trails.
The verses aren't bad, but when it gets into the chorus of YEAH I WANNA SAVE YOUUUUU it's pretty groan-inducing.

the first record isn't too great, but i really dig Crooked Lake. really there are no bad songs on that one. and the most recent 7" is real cool too.
I like the first one, but Crooked Lake is definitely the better record.  Cemetery Trails also has "Shortwave," the only GL song I really dislike.

Both Goodnight Loving LPs.  Hearing those new tracks has got me hooked on the old ones again.  Never get tired of this band.

"We're in a Place" is definitely the choice of the three tracks...cool to see them continuing with the female backing vocals like on "Drafted into War" (were they done by the Vancougar girls again?).

Also worth noting: the press sheet calling LFD their fellow musical visionaries and saying this one will have some British psych tinges.

Nevermind the reunion-show skeptics and bad youtube videos.  Boys ruled.  Probably 20 songs.

20/20 played well but aren't a really dynamic live band the way the Boys are.  Gentleman Jesse was great as expected, the Tranzmitors completely took me by surprise.

Yeah, the Ugly Beats playing after Black and Whites was weak.  Ditto w/ Boss Martians and G. Jesse.

There's been a new copy at Sound on Sound for probably a year or so, was still there last time I went, and it's $15, which would be more than 18 with shipping, 'cause it's a heavy record.

by the way, is there supposed to be a new studio album after all this?  not the comped LP of Matador singles, I mean is there a new album in the works here?

Supposed to be one out in '09.

I didn't get 4 or 5, and I've decided not to buy any of those or the new one unless I get extraordinarily lucky and get it from matador/a mailorder for ten bucks or less.  I'm not paying that much for a new seven inch.

weird. i think the first record is pretty awesome and that 'emotions' is probably their least essential early record.

that electric banana stuff is also cool.
Yes!  Love Electric Banana. "Grey Skies" is as good as anything on SF Sorrow.  Weren't most of the Electric Banana songs used in porn?

Get the Picture and SF Sorrow are my favorite Pretty Things albums, as well.

Fun Fun Fun Fest usually has one or two bands I want to see, but not enough to shell out for tickets or go to a FEST.

Fajita prophecy was fulfilled, complete with home made tortillas from a ghetto-rigged tortilla press.
Need kitchen gadgets.  Would rather spend $$ on records.

Had some leftover pasta that was kinda weak, but I'm tryin' to save money.  I've pretty much run through my leftovers, so I'll probably cook some more food tonight.  Fajitas!

Who in Austin is selling good punk records to Half Price Books instead of the million record stores here?

Picked up Live! In the Bed signed by all the Sexareenos for 15 bucks.  Mark's sig is a little smeared, besides that it looks good.

Picked up a Playstation 3 today!  Got MGS4 for it, but not gonna bother w/ that til I have a few hours straight to set aside for it (not today unfortunately).

but my PSN name is russromance, if anyone wants to add me on there.

So far been playing Everyday Shooter - any other cool/cheap type stuff that's worth picking up from the store?

I love the Echochrome demo on the PS3.  It's like MC Escher: the Game.

I just moved and am still getting situated, so I don't really have time to dedicate myself to anything besides
WarioWare.
