Does anyone know if they got the power back up and running in those parts of Buffalo that lost power yet. The company I work main office is based there and they're kind of cheap fucks so when the power went down our who computer/data system went down cuz they have no back up. SInce they went computerized the way of manually processing stuff has changed and is a way longer process than it used to be-and is a huge pain in the ass. Probably not as much as a pain in the ass as having no power and freezing your ass off in Buffalo though (Does Rich live in the effected area)?

i think pretty much everyone in the city was the affected area.   i drove past richies hood yesterday and it looked dark. everywhere looked dark, actually.  it was...really weird.  thursday night was dead silence except for snapping trees and powerlines.  and green lightning.  i guess people dont go looting when its cold out.

just got my lights back on an hour ago...everything was off since thursday night.    cables still out, but i must be tapping into the neighbors router.

they played in buffalo in '92....to about 6 or 7 people (not much has changed around here, i guess)3 of which were unsuspecting knuckleheads i dragged from the dorms.

impressive live show, nontheless...ive been a big fan ever since.

Fuck or Kill Tunes

i actually prefer KillTunes, but these are two of the best.  along with Transportational D. Vices, with has a lot of real good tracks.  still never got aquainted with the first album either, though.

Yes! Who else sounds like "Slay Tracks" era Pavement?

Not quite the same, but you'd probably dig the early/mid period Sebadoh records.  "III" and "Smash Your Head On The Punk Rock" are aces.
how 'bout the Grifters?  a tougher/bluesier sounding band, along the same lines as early pavement.   they had some cool lp's and lots of really good singles.   great band.

Hammerhead - Into The Vortex  (digging it, and clearing the living room as an added bonus)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Yankees manager Joe Torre likely will be fired and replaced by Lou Piniella following another early exit from the playoffs, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

OH SHIT

they were talking about that before the game ended....and i cant imagine that being a bad thing.   i like torre and all...but i love lou.  they need a change.  piniella would be a perfect change for what they lack in leadership. and i wanted to like a-rod, but he made it impossible.  they have a lot of great young players, i wish theyd go that route for once.

you may be right mark...LA might win on quantity (thats good)...but i still find myself listening to the Aspirations more than any on the LA stuff.

jeter was a freak tonight.  5-5?  it no wonder every ballpark around the league hates his guts.  i cant think of any other player id rather have around, especially in the postseason, than him.

i kinda like the early stuff at least as much.  i heard the later material years before i heard the early stuff....like both, but it sounds like two different bands completly.  tough decision for me.
