Music Shit / Re: MIAs new song samples Ghost Rider

This song is great...I wish more pop(ular) music was this good....

my band was called dog, but we only did it live

Dog!!Great band! Just pulled out the "Circus" b/w Lion's Den" single on Casting Couch the other day. Damn....I gotta replace my missing copy of the "My Crushing Device" single, too. "The b-side of that, "El Toro," is such a killer! That song always reminded me of TAD in a weird way....Those are the only two singles that I am familiar with....Did you guys release anything else?

Back in the early '90's, you guys got a lot of time on the turntable in an old house in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania from a bunch of crazy fuckers shooting off guns, riding (and wrecking) old motorcycles, all while consuming any and all substances that could be found. Man....I miss those Dummies.....and Dog.

I actually received this rather quickly...great single!

I think the Dwarves continued to excel through "Sugarfix," which could have been even better if it wasn't so sterile sounding. Great songs...wish they sounded like the "Underworld" single where I think they sounded their best...

Not the same band(s), but I think that the progression of Timmy Vulgar's projects has been pretty fucking great...

I was going to say the same thing re: a single LP with the best songs and no covers. I agree, though that there would only be minimal interest. Billy has one spare of "Off the Deep End" which he thinks can fetch over $100. I had to disagree with that, but who knows....I'm not too bright...

The last time I went to Billy's, he was pretty much out of most of his stuff compared to a few years ago when he had many copies of everything. We talked about doing some reissues, and he is up for it if anyone is interested. I like most of the stuff, but there are definitely way too many covers...

I intentionally avoid even thinking about this, but, when my wife informs me that we (I) have drained our bank account with a week to go until our next pay, I know that it's not good...It is a good thing that we had to file for bankruptcy and lost our home to foreclosure because it forced me to give up the credit cards....I think I would be better off being a heroin addict....

Music Shit / Re: RIP Bruce Roehrs

Man...death keeps coming. This is really sad. Never met Bruce, but I always enjoyed his enthusiasm for music. While he was consistently excited about the working class punks, I will never forget when he compared the first single I ever played on and released as being similar to Sister Ray (the band)...such a sad day...Alex, now Bruce...I feel sad and old...

Non-Music Shit / Re: Chatroulette finds
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:47:15 AM »
...as much as this thing disturbs me, i can't help but to waste hours staring at random people. this is also my first experience with anything related to a webcam or communicating with one, and what a way to be initiated i'm not crazy about the people wearing masks and shit....they may be sillier than the masturbators, whom i find quite hilarious. it is hard for me to imagine deciding that today is a good day to jerk off for the international cretins floating through the cameras. what i really do like is when you catch a glimpse of someone who is just odd, like the oblivious senior citizens and the pissed off rednecks who look as if they are on the hunt for a fight.

...i'm not sure how long the appeal will last, but it is quite enjoyable, for now, watching and examining human nature at its most bizarre and confusing. btw, i was just "reported" by "a bed" (yes, a bed) for some unknown reason. i can only take people (and cyborg mattresses) in small doses, so, once i am bored, it is nice to throw em away. NEXT!

...the one drawback i can already feel is that, now, anytime i am on the computer, i have this irrational fear that it is all just like chatroulette and people can see me, even if i can't see them. this could cause some issues if i'm not careful......no need to become even more paranoid than i already am....

Non-Music Shit / Re: Marantz 4230 question...
« on: March 16, 2010, 09:08:44 AM »
Thanks for the input. The main things that worry me are the cost for repairs or replacement parts and that looks can be deceiving. I get the sense that the seller is not someone familitar with these receivers, as he mentioned that it was in storage. My guess? A family member had it, died and this guy wants to simply get rid of it. This, alone, could be a good thing if my theory is correct and the dead person rarely used it. On the other hand....could be a mess.....

I'm waiting for the guy to call back about this. I am hoping that it is in good shape. I think you should take care of the legwork on this for me, Joe....thanks....
