Guess I can sorta understand not being down with the '70s soft rock thing goin' on, but I think Ariel Pink is fucking good at what he does. Don't really care about the coke-headed hipster fanbase or whatever other superficial things people are taking issue with--he makes some really great jilted pop. Would take his music over Blank Dogs ten times out of ten.

His band is pretty solid nowadays, and lately they've been playing great covers of the Dovers' "She's Gone" and the Human Expression's "Calm Me Down" alongside the new stuff.

It's huge, but damn, I'm barreling through this really quickly... beautifully written, great urban history. I can't believe one guy (Robert Moses) was able to do so much without ever being elected to office.

That's the test pressing and the band has completely run out. All they were selling at their last show was the 7".

This record is absolutely incredible. I've been listening to the test pressing for days and days--totally terrific. "Contact High", "I Have Bad News", and "Simple Song" are my personal faves, but believe me, all of them are KILLER JAMS.

You're seriously a moron if you don't order this. My fave of 2008.

Mine has the "Homie Depo" photo on the cover and is on clear vinyl (just like the one in that eBay auction), so yeah, it looks like there's a different color of vinyl for each of the 4 sleeve types. Purple, white, clear, and... ?
