I can't decide if I want to go to this or the We March show. Help?
Go to bed, Tina.  Sleep on it.  You've got a long day of finding shit to do and look busy.

I always liked this one.

I've starting selling on Discogs.  Not much traffic there, but seems like more and more sellers are popping up over there, which should help to bring the prices down to more of an affordable "real world" value.  They charge only a 6% flat fee, ONLY IF THE ITEM SELLS.  That's the total of their fees.

Haven't really sold but a handful (maybe five, in May) of things on eBay since Nov. '08 when they ripped me off for two White Stripes LP's for a total of $150 or so, because the items weren't sent registered, etc.  Never had a problem before, even w/ big ticket items.  One was for a friend who still had it from the initial release and the other was one that came in used at the shop i was working at in PDX, so the money issue wasn't much of a loss as much as having to tell a good friend, "You know that $80 bucks i was gonna give you for that LP? Well it doesn't exist".  Paypal automatically takes it from your account right away (even tho it is initially only "under investigation") even if it makes your account balance negative, which it did.  No contact from "buyer" ever, just a Paypal dispute filed.  I had been selling pretty regularly on eBay since 2000.  Even so, you can guess how much of a fuck eBay gave about me as a seller.

To add insult to injury, a friend of mine who runs a shop out there sold a different White Stripes LP and was ripped off BY THE SAME "BUYER"!  When he presented eBay w/ all of my dispute info/evidence, as well as his own, they told him it was "very interesting" evidence and sided w/ the same "buyer" anyway.

eBay is telling the buyer that it's ok to rip off the seller for big ticket items.  That one guy got the first three LPs (all first pressings) of that band for free, probably to resell to some kid in the UK or US, i'm guessing.

Music Shit / 9.20.75 - Mirrors / electric eels / Styrenes - a HOLIDAY
« on: September 14, 2009, 06:48:47 PM »
On 9.20.75 the last performance of Mirrors & electric eels took place at a Case Western Reserve University courtyard at WRUW-FM.  This was also the first show for Poli Styrene Jass Band.

What are you doing in tribute?  Should be some kind of holiday, correct?

"The end of Mirrors, the birth of The Styrenes, and the revenge of the eels" - Jamie Klimek

If you want to extend the holiday to a month long celebration/bender, keep in mind that the eels played their first show in Columbus, OH during October of 1973.

I don't think anyone was actually counting. I'm gonna say Harry or Haley. Def not James.
I had so much slime on my hand from the floor, there's absolutely no way that i could compete.  Haley and i decided the next day that Daniel won easily- check the form- but that she did one more than i did.  It was like a decathlon of Epic Blogging, this past weekend.
