Dudes - anybody know of people exploring similar territories to that Tom Bone - Shaking Palsy track that Eip Eiteews posted up?! Jammed that thing over and over in a stupor this morning and I'm back on the thing.

This is a fucking cheap answer but have you checked the Surgeon Pagga track that's in the relateds? Like #1 in the relateds? Omar-S has a dirty drum machine workout called Busaru Beats and then there's of course Plastikman's Spastik. They're probably not what you are looking for at all but they are dirty and drumz. I could see this stuff appearing in some mixes from the Berghain crew (especially Dettmann and Klock) and/or 90s oriented dudes like Surgeon and Redshape. Browse dem tracklists.

The Tom Bone track maybe reminds me a bit of Ancient Methods, but is even more stripped down I'd say... maybe try this?

'S entirely possible that it was Home Blitz that convinced me to buy a bike after having been off tha horse for over a decade.

And yes, I wear a helmet. Don't fret!

The King of the Beach
Was a star-bellied sneetch
Stumbling out of bars
Mocking those without stars.

When the Maple-leaf'd guts
debated what was "whut"
They gazed upon thars
and began seeing stars.

So they booked the young sneetch,
Hoping he'd give a speech
Like one gave before
'pon Spain's beachy shore.

Will the star bellied king
Continue to sing?
Will he continue to smoke?
Will he still be a joke?

PSEUSSWAVVE.

Cities / Re: Seattle help!

I liked Wall of Sound when I was there a couple years ago. Friendly, some good used stuff at okay prices...

Seattle is high on the list of places my lady and me might move to a year from now, when we complete our ladder to climb the inner wall of the slow cooker and vault the moat of gravy the keeps holds all the Midwest prisoner. Then I will be hip!

Awesome. If the weather is nice I think I'll try to make it down to the Terrace to catch the godfather of hip-hop work the crossfader with his arthritic fingers on Friday. I haven't been there yet this year... a word of advice that last time I was there they were being a bit more hardcore on checking for Union memberships, so make sure yr prepped for that before spending the time in line to get a pitcher.

Also, if yr in Monona you're not too far away from where the Northern Lights thing will be going down on Saturday. If yr familiar w/ the area at all, it's just down the street from Monty's Blue Plate.

Yep. I know where Mickey's is (grew up in Madison/Monona)

Gotcha. I'm fairly thick and failed to put that together from your stating that you'd be in Monona for "family stuff"... sorry. Just to clarify re: Saturday, the Northern Lights DJ set is at the Alchemy (right next to the Ideal Bar @ Atwood x Winnebago), not Mickeys (but very close). In case you were to show up, I don't want to be blamed for recommending whatever is going on Saturday at Mickeys (looks to be singer-songerwriter crap and one of the dudes from the Gomers).

The taxidermy museum is in Middleton, right? Or am I thinking of the mustard museum?

... and yr absolutely right on that Madison is much more enjoyable when the students are off mowing lawns (though I used to be one [a student, not a lawn]). I'm sure you'll find plenty of curds, though I wish you godspeed in doing so without stumbling across a BLUES JAM.

Awright, not sure what you're into, but from a quick look here's the closest to "Termbo friendly" happenings this weekend. Might also be some deep-underground style basement stuff; I never know about that...

FRIDAY:
The Midwest Beat LP release show @ the Frequency, 10pm (come late to miss the Blueheels)
db pederson performing @ Mickey's, 10:30pm (other stuff too, but he's what I'd be there for.
DJ Kool Herc (!) and Clyde Stubblefield opening for something dubiously named "AfroFlow", fulfilling the outdoor drinking requirement @ the Memorial Union Terrace, 9:30pm

SATURDAY:
Knuckel Drager @ the Wisco, 10pm... not my thing, but should be "punky" here.
db pederson again, w/ some free jazz and experimental yobs this time 'round @ Mother Fool's 8:00pm
Northern Lights - Northern soul DJs (Aaron from Peaking Lights is one, but I think he's outta town for this gig...) @ Alchemy, 10pm

Hope that helps!

Mebbe someone else knows better than I, but I'll try to do a little digging and will post here if anything's "poppin'".

That said, it's the interim summer months, so lack of students leads to a smaller draw for touring bands, not that a lot come through anyways. If the weather is nice I would recommend drinking outside, that is my general plan for summer weekends.

Still gotta snag that T++ dubble. Love the other T++ 12"s (Aquatic, Space Pong, etc.)... so shifty but driven, would love to hear played in a club for which the dancefloor was secretly located 'pon a swimming pool, the trapdoor slowly sliding over as the dancers try to maintain stability to no avail and wind up succumbing to the drink. SEA LEGGS.

Gonna bust out Minimal Nation tonight (only the repress, no OG here). Need to pick up more of his stuff, I know that Tresor just did a repress along w/ my beloved Drexciya... shit, where's my budget at?

You forgot Menasha on that list.

Manitowoc.

Trying to convince Rachel to set aside a couple days in Wisconsin so I can take her around Milwaukee, GB, Manitowoc, and maybe the Fox Valley or Algoma or something.

ManitOconomowoc

Crivitz.

Iron Mountain.

Edit: Crap, mixed up Oconomowoc and Oconto Falls, truly a different set of logistics involved.
