Jawbox did a cover of "Something Must Break" that was pretty awful, as I recall.

billy idol - " mony mony"
bow wow wow- "i want candy"
soft cell - "tainted love"

I think Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" and Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" are great covers.  Do you mean they ruined them in the sense that they swallowed up the originals in the public imagination?  'Cos that's certainly true.  I agree with you about Billy Idol's "Mony Mony," though. 

I'll agree with you on Tainted Love. That was a perfect pop song that overshadowed a great original.  I'm not a fan of BowWowWow.

someone swiped my suicide LP way back in 2001 and I have yet to replace it.  should be easy enough, just never got around to it and definitely miss it often.
