"From the first note out of your speakers, this gem takes you to a different time and place entirely. Is this a lost album from 60's psych movement? Or a reissue of a nuggets band that slipped through the cracks? The answer is none of the above, this is a current band from Chicago who have discovered how to perfectly channel their music from a different era. Every aspect of this psychedelic pop record will lure you in, from the great guitar hooks, to the creepy voodoo organs, to the male and female vocal harmonies, right on down to the fact it was recorded with a vintage tape setup brings you right back to the roots of garage psych. A bit darker then the bands debut LP on Southpaw earlier this year but just as solid. Co-release between FDH and Resurrection Records, with European Distribution by Red Lounge Records. Out Halloween 2012"

We are expecting the vinyl out in Late Oct or Early Nov. The digital version is out now on Itunes (and a few other vendors).

Over at FDHMUSIC.COM I started preorders. Im also giving away a free random 7" (from my backstock) to the first 50 preorders. Im also doing a few giveaways as listed here

Got the razorcake reviews in today

Spent Flesh 10" - "Jesus! What a glorious mess of a record. Super-spastic, thrashing, three-piece (no bassist) making half-belligerent, maddening music. Dean Dirg meets The Reatards in a bar in Philly. Possible musical inspiration: Slight Slappers, blenders, and benders. Totally righteously?and ridiculously?fucked up and awesome. ?Daryl Gussin (FDH / P. Trash / Sit & Spin)"

Crusaders Of Love - Take it Easy LP - "The songs on this record come across as pop punk with hints of power pop influence sewed in. While the songs are pretty rockin?, the pace of this record does not change much. The quality of the singer?s voice and the jumpier rock riffs remind me of The Exploding Hearts. This record would be a good choice for fans thereof. ?Billups Allen (FDH)"

Pop Punk / Re: The Ergs! Appreciation Thread
« on: September 13, 2012, 06:21:46 PM »
I never cared much about the ergs really. I lived in  a house in the mid 2000's and a bunch of gthe kids their flipped their shit. I always thought they were kind of boring. A few months back I tossed on the ergs double album collection thing that I got in a trade years earlier. I gotta say I enjoyed listening to it. Sure its nothing mind blowing but a solid listen.

Long time this thread has been inactive. Im in the process of moving and my Expedit shelf is done for. Im kind of glad its gone as I want to get something nicer now as it will sit in my living room. Im wondering if anyone has any new thoughts. I might just go the route of finding woodworker / cabinet maker and having something made or possibly might buy something pre made if the quality is good. Anyone have any ideas or contacts for anyone in the Philadelphia area? Looking for a unit that can hold around 1000 lp's (give or take a few hundred). Hoping to spend somewhere in the range of $500-1000.

Here is what Razorcake had to say about the spent flesh record - Brash, spastic hardcore from Philadelphia. Demented and maniacal. So weird it'll make you question if you're playing the record at the right speed. But it rages from beginning to end. Definitely worth picking up if you feel like taking a chance on something you've never heard of. (FDH / P. Trash / Sit & Spin)

We are down to a bit over 100 copies left. Sit and Spin is almost out of their copies & well over half of P.Trash's copies are gone to the club members.

If you dont mind spending a few hundred bucks I highley recommend a Marantz 2245. I bought mine a few years back and love it. Great sound for sure.

Spent Flesh got a nice little review in MRR " This is Chaotic thrash with some interesting guitar parts that are oddly catchy and dissonantat the same time. The vocals are aggressive and music is raw, but the recording isn't, which is a nice juxtapostition. It's off kilter at times, straightforward at others, but original throughout. Sometimes the guitar riffage sounds clear and other times it's blown ou tand sounds like a police siren run through a distortion and delay pedal. The guitar work really stands out at different points throughout the record. If this sounds like what you're into then I'd encourage you check it out online, after a little bit of looking around it looks like you can stream the entire B-side online" (On Get Bent!)

Home town of Rod Sterling.

Respect.

Who is Rod Sterling?

Poughkeepsie is also the birthplace of Ed Wood, Mountain Girl and Snooki

Dont try and pin Snooki on Poughkeepsie. She is from across the river in Marlboro
