New duds & logo for Toronto next season. I assume this is a lot of hype that will end up being a minor tweak ass opposed to a balls to the wall change.

Beautiful World Syndicate (Passyunck & Tasker) was pretty good when I was there 5-6 years ago. There was a place I picked up a Japanese release of Guitar Wolf's UFO Romantics. Forgot the name of the place but I could have sworn it was in or very close to Old City but I can't find it on Google Maps. Either it closed or it's not where I thought.

Need to get back to Philly. Cool place. Based on the comments in the previous Philly thread, it's not too popular around here but I loved it.

Deceptive title.

I was about to start rockin' some Joe Walsh and discuss the epic Walter Hill film.

Somewhere I read "I thought wrestling was fake until I saw this":

It's been making the rounds and, in all likelihood, everyone has seen this but it still makes me laugh.

I have Gallagher and Boychuk on the fantasy squad. My team is cannibalizing each other.

I'm watching this Bruiser Brody shoot interview. Very interesting stuff as he talks a bit about his business. This is the first I've heard him out of character and this is one of the earliest shoots I am aware of.

Just came across this thread now. I was on a plane nearing takeoff to St. Louis when I read the news via Facebook. Dude was rad beat the skins on some immortal Motorhead records. He'll live forever in the hearts and minds of all who love rock n roll and on a Goblinko pin.

The war on Islamic extremism can't be won militarily without eliminating the conditions that breed it. Whenever the west gets involved and puts non-radicals in power, the radicals go underground. When we leave, they resurface. It's an enclave of peoples who are impoverished and are raised to believe America is the cause of their suffering, which is true. This is why islamaphobia will only alienate and exacerbate the issue. The Boston Marathon bombers were visited by the FBI prior to their attacks, intimidated and alienated, made to feel more sympathetic to extremism and more oppressed, and look what happened. Even if we committed genocide, it would never be forgotten and we'd create more enemies. These are failed states because they can't maintain their government without radicals fucking it all up.

What makes ISIS different than Al Quaeda is the near enemy/ far enemy distinction to their approach. They go after local governments, entrench themselves, steal petroleum and destabilize the west locally. They're also largely disaffected youths. Al Quaeda were adults, engineers, who believed in the far enemy approach, that the head of the snake so to speak were the twin towers. And their massacre of 3000 some, while spectacular and etc., ruined Bin Laden. He went into hiding and couldn't maintain an effective foothold.

They're all religious radicals; Bin Laden's ideal Islamic state was Afghanistan under the Taliban. But as long as there's extreme religious fervor indoctrinated in youths + extreme disdain of the west and recalcitrant western politicians like Netanyahu, this war cannot be won. It's pretty bleak. They're not the only oppressed minority or the only refugees of war (drug war), but they are willing to murder and die for their cause with bellicose acts, and they are using the internet extensively, unlike Al Quaeda, which ironically, one of Asad's first acts as leader of Syria was to install broadband en masse against counsel.

ISIS is also a doomsday cult. Their motive is completely different.

Let's destabilize Northern Africa and the Middle East. What could possibly go wrong.

The politicians are not the ones dieing and that's a damn fucking shame.

I'm finally getting around to watch the Death Wish sequels. Parts 2 & 3 are fucking brutal and 4 has its moments. Best ending of the 4 films. Part 5 is in the Netflix queue and should arrive soon but I've heard it was direct-to-video garbage.

Thanks for the recs. They'll be taken into consideration. I love horchata and may have to check out Don Carlos to see if it tops the best here in Phoenix (Mucho Macho Taco).

City Museum is now on the list but their operation hours may not allow.

I'll be in STL next Friday and Saturday. Looking for food recommendations: pizza, BBQ, kebabs, Mexican...whatever.
