So it seems like Louie CK has reinvented self-distro in the stand up comedy world...

If you haven't seen the new special, it's wonderful.

Just watched a few of the season one episodes with commentary.  Although they're not especially funny, they are rather interesting.  I would especially recommend the commentary tracks to those of you who are interested in film/video stuff.  Lots of talk of lenses, camera angles, production design, etc.

"Duckling" was one quality ass hour of TV.

i thought it was set up the same way, from what i remembered. i honestly haven't seen it since it was a new HBO show, so maybe it's good, maybe it isn't.... i didn't like it when i saw it then.  seems to go for kinda low on ebay sometime, so maybe i'll make the half-assed investment. seems he didn't like the show either and like usual most likely exaggerated the negative aspects of his experience with it? i don't know

also i don't think pamela was a cold hearted bitch, she's just closed off.... louie got close and even just about sealed the deal but he didn't realize it! that's usually how it goes too.. i dunno.

anyway, he got a season 3. i was looking into it because i was getting scared tonights might have been the last of the season (the halloween bit was great - the hollywood part wasn't too hot, but maybe i just need to watch it again)  wiki says next week's is an hour, and then there are still two more episodes after that.

I hated Lucky Louie the first time I saw it as well.  Watch the episode "Confession."  If that one doesn't convert you, none will.

also, in case you didn't know, the "oh, louie!" thing with the sitcom with bob saget on the couch was based on his HBO show lucky louie, which ran for one season. when it was on i hated it (making me not want to watch this show when it came out last year!), thought about revisiting it after thinking the eponymous show is one of the best on television right now, but after seeing his exaggerated critique of it now maybe i should just leave it alone?
It wasn't based on Lucky Louie. I believe he still stands behind that show in some ways. Based on the content of "Oh Louie" and the age of his daughter in that segment, it is more likely about this: This http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0889653/

I can't understand how anyone could like "Louie" but not like "Lucky Louie."  To me they're companion shows.

Am I the only one who thought last night's episode was terrible?  The formula of the show is so transparent...
