Any recomondations on hotels

Expedia have a pretty good deal on a Bestern Western in Midtown, only $50/55 a night (half price if you stay four nights). Not near the venue of course, but how much could a cab be?

Upcoming Shows/Tours/Events / Re: DMZ - Original Line-Up (OCT 23rd Boston)

I think they were supposed to play at the big Crypt 25th anniversary show that weekend, but that's now been postponed to a later date.

It'd be amazing to see that DMZ line up. I caught them a couple of times in the early 00's in Vegas and LA, but neither was that hot, but that was due to more to horrible venues / sound rather than the band.

Music Shit / Re: advice on CRYPT Records

One thing thaty strucks me from the 90s is that, as far as I can remember, I never saw a record released on Crypt get a bad review in fanzines. More or less the same thing with shit on Estrus and Rip off too. People did not seem to have any quality control what so ever. As long as it was trashy punk and rock n roll most fanzine people totally ate it up. Their are a few european zines that still hails anything with the "right" sound and influences

You're not far wrong. I gotta say in the 90's I bought everything on Crypt, Estrus and Rip Off, most of it was good to great, with the occasional dud. Their hit to miss ratio was pretty high in favour of hits.

You can't go wrong with Crypt, the only exceptions for me are Los Assdraggers, Pleasefuckers, DM Bob and Country Teasers, everything else is great. One of the best labels for enhance anyones record collection.

The most consistantly great comp series period. If vol.'s 7 and 8 are now expensive, they're still totally worth it.

They don't have a bad selection and most prices are about the same as in London. But for Termbo related stuff it's cheaper to buy from US distros like Bistro Distro, Floridas Dying, etc.

Which store was this? Can't believe anyone would even try to sell a 7" for ?9. Rough Trade sells most import 7"s for about ?5/6, maybe the odd one goes for ?7. Don't be surprised at the high price of records over here, bought the new Sic Alps and Pierced Arrows LP's last week, ?15 each, so that's about $27. Probably the cheapest you'll get an LP for is around ?10-12, which is still $18-22. Way more expensive than in the States, huh?

I saw her at a Casino in Tacoma a few years ago and despite the zero atmosphere of the place, she and the band were great. Played a choice set including several long time faves. How can you not love Joan Jett?

I've only had to do this once and filed a claim after waiting a month, which seemed reasonable. And that was after three polite unanswered emails. The guy didn't respond after I filed the claim, so I got the money back, it was actually quite painless.

Their London show was pretty damn good, probably played for about 75 minutes. All those kids coming on and off stage got a bit irritating towards the end, but the band played really well.

Rough Trade had this in on Saturday and I had a flick through it. Incredibly well done and very high quality. Swedish Punk isn't really my thing, but I was quite tempted just the same.

Fuck it, didn't want one anyway! Amazing how once you got that message telling you it's sold out you can clear your cart in no seconds flat. Oh well, it's the taking part that counts, probably the high point of this evenings entertainment.
