Another shocking (?) revelation about this band: not only are they still effective geezers live, their 90s stuff is about on par with the late 70s stuff at times, production aside. I hear they are hitting the USA again soon.

Do ysself a fav-ah.

I know they are playing Chaos in Tejas. I think it's their only US show(???)

Just bought the demo tape from user Nick_ and now i have everything. Everything the band did was great in my opinion. I generally don't like covers but Ending On A Positive Note is great, gets me pumped every time i hear it.

Any distros still have the Hospital 7"?

you can maybe try calling juanita and juan's in philly, it's possible they will have some copies for sale.  not 100% that they do mailorder, though.

Thanks.

I was going to pick up the Dais 12" at Amoeba the other day but i decided against it because i didn't want to pay $12 for 3 songs.

How much does that Bouncing babies comp normally go for? A copy on ebay just went for 40+ and about a month ago i saw someone on vlv sell it for 10. Someone snagged it a few minutes before i saw it.

One Last Wish on vinyl!  2009 is automatically great for that release alone.

I couldn't agree more

This is out now, you don't have to wait til 09.

I can't get sick of those first two records.  I hope they get re-issued on vinyl.

I was hoping for live video though.  Oh well.  Still great to hear.

What about 3?  It was just Gray Matter with Jeff Nelson on drums.  More poppy, but still pretty great.

Yes. Especially with Dischord re issuing some older things now. Excited for the One Last Wish LP.

isn't captain beefheart from palmdale? i've driven through palmdale/lancaster a couple times. went to your county fair last year.

Yeah he's from Lancaster and Frank Zappa is from Palmdale. My middle school social studies teacher told me that Frank Zappa lived in a shed behind her house that she was renting out.

Are those weird antique and junk stores still there in Littlerock and Pearblossom along Hwy 138? I remember passing those all the time whenever the family would drive to San Bernardino/Colton to visit extended family. Always wanted to stop there, but the folks always wanted to make good time.

From what i remember as a kid most of them are still there. I have no idea how they stay in business though, it's so empty. I haven't been to any of them for the same reasons as you but friends say Charlie Browns is a good place to go to and buy all the things you wanted when you were nine and your parents said "next time."
