All three of their 45s on Young Lion are great.

Absolutely, positively, utterly without a doubt one of the most charming and unique pop LPs of the 80s.  I was absolutely smitten with it at the time, and there still isn't anything else that sounds quite like it (even their other LPs).  Must have.

The CD is worth picking up; has tracks from two quite excellent 7" EPs.

And if you ever see that Martin Luther Kinks 7", do the right thing.

Copies should be around...

Quote
I could slip a Kaisers song in after a Beatles request, and people would keep dancing.

I've done the same thing with a track from the first Spongetones album.

Yeah, I had promo CDs of those Get Hip things from when I worked at the store.  I'd just like 'em on vinyl and was kinda hoping not to pay $15 plus shipping for 'em on the eBay or whatever.  I'm finally putting together some trade lists; I have one for LPs, if anyone's interested.  Not a lot of punk content, but some power pop/flying nun/wave stuff available.

Oh BTW, I laughed when I read "so outta vogue."  That's me.  To be honest, most of the contemporary bands championed on this site make me scratch my head and go "hmmmm," with few exceptions (Mantles).  I don't dislike them, I just don't "get it."

I do appreciate the breadth and depth of knowledge to be gleaned on this board though.  That's mostly why I'm here.

Anyone have anything they want to get rid of? I'd take anything except the "She's Gonna Two-Time" 45 or the Screaming Apple 45.  Sale or trade...

Hi all,

Trying to avoid eBay silliness by selling a few Skrewdriver 45s here.  PM me.

Vinyl graded first

Anti-Social b/w 19th Nervous Breakdown (Chiswick)  Very nice EX/EX copy.  $100

You're So Dumb b/w Better off Crazy (Chiswick)  VG+/VG.  Vinyl plays so beautifully that I am thinking about slipping this record into the drawer right now.  Sleeve has stains that suggest that it might have been taped to a wall at some point, and several ugly sticker tears on the back.  $60

Built Up Knocked Down b/w A Case of Pride & Breakout (TJM)  VG+/VG+.  Record has a lot of noise; quite problematic on the A-side due to it's quiet nature.  Less problematic on the B-side, but since this doesn't crank like the Chiswicks, it's still noticeable.  Sleeve has a large bent corner, but it doesn't really detract from the front of the sleeve.  Quite ugly on the back, but since that isn't much to look at anyway...Easily the rarest (and worst) of these three singles.  $70

Just like on eBay, your satisfaction is guaranteed.  I'm spending spring break listing the last few 45s from the collection I've been selling slowly over the last what...20-25 years?  Check out the listings; stuff going up all week.

I should think at least a few here would dig the Membranes Songs of Love and Fury LP.  I don't care for any of the others I've heard, though.

I've got the 45s, thanks.  Actually have the CDs as well, but I'd like vinyl copies of 'em.

Anyone have a copy of TV Personalities' They Could Have Been Bigger then the Beatles that they'd be willing to part with?  Cash or trade.

I really like Sundazed's press release for this project, too.  It emphasizes that the VU were, among many other things, a great pop band, which, while an awful thing to contemplate for some contrarians in their fanbase, is the biggest reason they are gods.

And I just noticed that we will now all have the chance to own "I Heard Her Call My Name" on 7".  Wow!

The Velvet Underground released singles???

I always knew they did but I've never seen any in a record store or anything. Does anyone own any? Are the ultra-rare like I assumed they would be?

The Verve singles turn up on eBay more often than you'd think, virtually always promos, usually clean.  They typically sell in the $150-200 range, I think.  The PS for "All Tomorrow's Parties" was at one point said to be one of the two rarest/most sought after (US) sleeves ("Street Fighting Man" being the other), but I'm not sure if that is still the case.

There are some Loaded singles too.  "Who Loves the Sun," and a UK press of "Sweet Jane" are among the ones I've seen.  They're much cheaper.

I've always wanted these, and occasionally even bid fairly heavy on them, but never could quite get there.  God bless Sundazed.
