I am personally a fan of the 160km 'Metric Century', because it's not so long you can't have a normal day after, and if you bike a bit in your day-to-day (bike to work, etc) it's not too crazy to do a ride like that off the cuff. I think 200km is more doable than you think, if you do a couple maybe 40km rides the week before. After all it's just 5 of them back to back...
Damn - didn't make that ton (yet) but did do 200m in 3 days with my son - me on a road bike, he on a fixie. Made 82 on the first day......held back by the fixie....evil devastating leg cramp at midnight.....
What're you, some kind of randoner?
Even for Termbo, that's pretty impressive as non-sequiturs go!
Bone Awl/Raspberry Bulbs is about the only modern one I've really gotten into- not that I really understand the genre classification though...Bone Awl reminds me more of SOA or early HC than metal though, until the vocals come in.
carbonas 2
If this really counts as a hardcore record than my top 5 are:
Krunchies - In de Winkel
Tyrades - ST
Feelers - Learn to Hate
Catholic Boys - Psychic Voodoo Mind Control
Henry Fiats Open Sore - Parallel Universe of
Here ya go!
Yeah, none of that is hardcore. Influenced by, sure, but not 'CORE, bro.
This is what I'm sayin', they're all as close to HC as Carbonzos. All though I'd argue that the Krunchies are in fact a total hardcore band, and way under appreciated in that regard.
I'd go with that. All of these bands come off pretty "hardcore" live too. It's all in the eye of the beholder, esp. considering all the shitty metal people consider hardcore.
For some reason I always think of Jones/Cook as a rhythm section.
yankee doodle dandy. it's terrible.
Not to be a guitar nerd, but I am one... Apparently Doyle uses amps that have no midrange because he has something against midrange. I saw an interview with him about it (why I saw it, I don't know; I don't really care that much about the Misfits or Danzig). No midrange = nobody can hear you above the din of cymbals and bass guitar.
Makes sense, metallica also has a thing about not using midrange, so they have something in common other than being embarrasing manchildren.
All the Nu-Metal kids at the studio would do that. I called it Sucktone.
so why didnt cranefortune just get.their shit from katorga works when they were in the van in the mcdonalds drive thru?
Nancy is a two piece Burger-style "punk" band. Best part of their set was an energetic cover of Sparks' "Sherlock Holmes." Dime/dozen.
