Thanks. We'd been talking about doing this single for a couple of years when Jeff decided to cut it in Memphis with Ross earlier this year.

Chris Durham's debut 7" is up for sale. Chris was in Roachclip (with former members of Tyvek), the Bibs and along with Travis Galloway runs the All Gone imprint. Durham's also the man behind Church Shuttle, who just had a release on Soft Abuse. Limited to 300 copies -- for fans of Peter Laugner and Jim Shepard. Lacquer cut by Adam Smith (Columbus Discount). We have the A side streaming here...

People still review records? I thought that was the job of public relations outfits.

We do take Paypal. If you're outside of the US, we have no way of automatically computing the cost of shipping at checkout. We can get that for you if you write us and let us know what you want + where you're ordering from. Thanks.

...recorded a few months back. This is the first new Jeff Evans material in ten years. We're really proud of this one. One side is Jeff on vocals, the other side is Ross. Limited to 300 copies. Lots of rock 'n' talk.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Easiest way to move records?

I moved over 3,000 records across three states. It's no big deal. Keep Boodle, Boodle, Boodle in a separate box with all of the other $100+ records. Keep them in the cab of the truck (or have them ride shotgun in the car). Place all the rest in 12.5" boxes. Since you're only moving a few miles you don't need to worry about heat. None of my records were damaged during shipping. Yours won't be either.

Great reissue, Goner. Got mine a few days back.

At the end of the day, it comes down to the person, not the gear. However, if you play music a lot, playing a guitar/bass you really like makes a world of difference. If you can't afford good gear, you just take what you can get. I've been there.

I couldn't care less what ratchet/wrenches I was using before I started working on cars. Once I got in part time at the hot rod shop, working eight hours a day under a lift, I really grew to appreciate quality hand tools -- the ones that made jobs easier...ratchets that wouldn't slip and line wrenches that wouldn't round fasteners. I helped my neighbor today replace the radiator fan and coolant temp sensor on his mom's 1999 Saturn. When I broke out a 3/8" flex-head ratchet to clear an obstruction he was stuck on, it blew his mind. He didn't know such a tool existed.

I always preferred using lower-end basses for shows in case they got stolen. I remember seeing the Orphans play in Los Angeles in the early/mid 2000s and Wade snapped the headstock off his 4001 Ric as he was spinning it around. He didn't flinch and went straight for his backup Gibson Thunderbird. I think I still feel worse about it now than he did back then.

Another example of a company buying a name with no relationship to the original manufacturer. Weren't these akin to Silvertones and the guitar formerly associated with Jack Oblivian? The old ones were made in the US of materials that doubled for some of the bathroom and kitchen products sold in the Sears catalog.

My friend bought a Murph guitar at a swap meet for around the $100 mark. Years later, he took the pickguard off and found a hidden bag of crystal meth underneath. I mentioned that people pawn guitars for drugs. The seller had the whole concept backwards.

I played bass for a lot of years. I had about ten basses over that time. I always go back to the Precision. I do like Mustang basses too.

At the same time, labels focused more on the higher profit margins on LPs. If I recall correctly, it was Al Bell at STAX who pushed Jim Stewart to focus more on LPs.
