I dunno, most of that Dischord / Ian MacKaye stuff from the past few decades most assuredly ain't punk. As far as The Ramones go, Marky handing off a pre-licked cone o' gelato has to result in some sort of sanction:

There is no money in legit punk rock. These guys pose. Besides, CM Punk has more money than most of these guys. Where is he on the list?

Hammering on one riff. Like a slightly sped up Drunks With Guns... though they may actually predate DWG. Punk as fuck.

Quality distros of NOW!: Six Weeks (above-par sales, below par packing), RRR

Fine distros of days yore: Brickwall, Bovine

Crummy deceased distros: Dead Alive-

Decades Late Ripoff Alert : Circle Jerks circa 1986. Greg Hetson endorsed and cashed the $14 check my mommy wrote but never sent the goods.

Surgery- Pre-Amrep, never sent the ep and never responded to letters. I'm still bitter.

Darbouka has always been quick and reliable, although the packing is lousy. Maybe things get f'ed up in customs. Rescued From Life is quite good as well.

Velted Regnub on the other hand has been absolute HELL to deal with as of late. He seems to go in streaks. Quick shipping and bombproof packing for a stretch, and then on subsequent orders he flakes out and makes excuses as to why your trade is taking 5 months to complete. I'm a forgiving person but I dunno...

Write that column and send it in, they might just publish it. MRR still rules and is still relevant despite the yammering  of out-of-touch naysayer playa haters.

If you're familiar with Michigan politics you're not doubt aware that the possibility of Sen. Joseph Utsler J-Novi is not unlikely.  Google Don Williamson, Kwame Kilpatrick, Woodrow Stanley, Dick Posthumous, Pete Hoekstra etc. etc. ad infinitum for further evidence. Not as insane as Minnesota politics or the South in general, but still...

While it would not be all that surprising if a closet Juggalo has already been elected, there has not yet been an open, proud, out-of-the-closet, Faygo-swilling, face paint donning, chicken-hunting, psychopathic serial killa who has held office. Juggalos are basically non-racist Libertarians who not only advocate for legalization of drugs, but actually partake... and have horrible taste in music, fashion, culture, and so on. Long rapsheets may be a problem for most.

Mayor of Saginaw and State Rep. for the south and west sides of Flint... hell, all of Genesee County is a distinct possibility. Given the sorry state of bipartisan politics, I might just vote Juggalo and watch the literal fireworks. Woot woot!

In-house embroidery? Psychopathic is DIY as fuck.

All joking aside, I am amazed at what they have accomplished. A pseudo gang begat a rap group which begat a record label which begat a multi-million dollar empire which begat a cult that has now finally morphed into a legitimate culture. Yes, anthropologists should get on the good foot and start astudying. Juggalos have their own customs, language, foodstuffs, governance, belief system, and rituals aplenty far more complex than those found in punk or hip-hop or even among Deadheads and Parrotheads. Juggalo culture has now entered its second generation with no signs of stopping. The next logical step is statehood. Mark my words ninjas, if Juggalo culture survives another generation expect to see a nation-state or at least a semi-autonomous region somewhere in the Rustbelt / Heartland. The Nazis couldn't pull it off in the Idaho panhandle and Texan secession was a bust, but Psychopathic Horrorcore Hatchet-Swinging Everybody Killas actually get shit done.

Downstate Illinois... the cops are probably Juggalos.

Provincial hilljacks can be compelled to look the other way given the massive cash infusion provided by The Gathering. I'm sure I.C.P. could find another impoverished rural community somewhere in the Midwest to play host should C.I.R.P.D. choose to play Roscoe P. Coltrane.

According to this suspicious looking website this was actually endorsed by the Cryptic Corporation!

I think they've recently chucked the eyeballs and perform instead as Randy, Chuck and Bob.

I'm hearing heaps of early Savage Republic along with hints of Psycho Sin, Complete, Wheelz of Steel, Diamanda Galas, and of course, Old Skull. Not bad at all.

Enterprise Records and Strange Maine were both excellent. Lots of affordable weirdo buys at each. Yam burritos at Granny's were delicious.

Portland is a wonderful town to stroll around.

What are Plasma Alliance like? I've been kinda on the lookout for Boom and the Legion of Doom stuff.

"We can't wait for 1988, stop the madness before its too late"

Great chaotic sloppy HC Punk. Quite under appreciated. BLOD was a wild live band. Don't sleep on other Depression Records: Premature Babys, Broken Trust, Pecker Tracks, Disappointments etc.

Political Silence t-shirt size medium. I outgrew, but still held on to it. Shirt STOLEN in a Kalamazoo laundromat circa 1993 along with other awesome  ts: Mike Hard's llumination Festival, Cows- Daddy Has A Tail, Meat Puppets, RRRecords, Christian Weightlifters- The Power Team, etc etc.

I'm still looking for the culprit.

nem singer is wearin' said Poly Sci shirt.
