Shaved Women

Apop Records

Standard edition, 1st press. Here is the much anticipated second 7"€? from St. Louis's€™ SHAVED WOMEN. It is a harsh tale of disillusionment told in three new hope-crushing pummelers. The opening track ANXIETY careens out the gate with desperate mania; offering the same thick, frustrated sound that earned their previous records references to BLACK FLAG and THE JESUS LIZARD and continues as the second track kicks off in blistering fury. Halfway through the 7"?, however, PRESSURES breaks down with the pace and ferocity of a whip self-flagellated. Golly, things are getting heavy, man. Long standing as a favorite live set closer and one horse-pill dose of a downer, ADULTHOOD finds the Women trading speed and vitriol for shades of sludge and self-loathing. It's despair and self-defeat mantras cycle and redouble with heaving, head-banging repetition summoning an end to such youthfully quaint ideals like Self-Improvement, Happiness or A Future Worth Living.

Music Shit / Re: 2012 HARDCORE.

Anasazi is real good kind of a death rock vibe through the lens of hardcore. Songs are well written and recorded. I picked it up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. All four of those new records are great but i feel like the Hank Wood and Anasazi records are the better of the 4 new Toxic State releases.

How you could do that to another person then go home and live a normal life is insane to me. All those cops should be locked up but we know that won't happen.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Strange Public Bathroom Behaviors
« on: February 15, 2012, 12:52:03 AM »
Last week i was sitting in a stall in my school's library taking care of some business when a well dressed, at least from the shin down, i assume old dude stopped by the urinal next to the stall. Now i thought he was just taking a piss but then the shaking started going on for a little too long. Keep in mind this is the middle of the day in one of the busier bathrooms on campus. Eventually the shaking went on for an uncomfortably long period of time. This of course puts me in the what's more awkward asking this dude if he is jerking or just going about my biz. Decided on the later and never got definitive proof that the dude was having a mid day yank or just some trouble. Ether way it was some strange behavior.

Thought the new Omegas was pretty good but the LP did it for me so much harder. New Slices is indeed rad as hell. Also looking forward to getting the new Walls Lp in the mail. Curious as to what that SPK cover sounds like.

might be a possibility but it's a bit out of the way. Our guitar player's job kind of limits how long we can be out, so we have to keep things kind of close together due to that. But if something doesn't work out in that area i'll hit you up.
