blade runner 2049 looked great, acting was fine.  'villains' were not so great.  plot was a little thin.  your takes?

in the sense of cutting back it's going well, complete abstinence not working.  i had a few weeks of no booze and was fine, maybe a bit boring at times but generally fine.  fell off the wagon on U.S. election night but then went back on until last night and had 6 tall cans as my wife went out with friends and I was bored. i think if i could get my drinking down to once a week or every other week, basically just occasionally and mainly by myself and not do anything stupid, embarrassing or mean spirited on that one night that'd be alright.  we'll see.  i know drinking at home alone isn't usually a good  sign but in my case it might be better.. harm reduction.

I watched the first episode of Black Mirror where the guy is debating whether he's going to fuck a pig and the whole thing is laughably and cringeworthy-level bad.  Does it get better after that?

But dude Piggate... ttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3242550/Cameron-pig-bemused-look-face-future-PM-took-outrageous-initiation-ceremony-joining-Oxford-dining-society.html

Do you guys know of any non-alcoholic beer that doesn't completely taste like shit??
I really like the taste of beer and would enjoy drinking some without alcohol in it at least some of the time if it didn't suck so much.

Trying to significantly cut back, but first taking a break from drinking which I've done a couple of times with mixed results. Club soda doesn't always satisfy. Oh well.

I guess I'll do some internet research on .5's

Thought I'd start here though...

been very slowly reading Don Quixote for a couple months.. i fall asleep after reading a few pages most nights.  It's great but i might need to find something else to read on the side soon. read some elmore leonard short western stories which were cool. what was i reading before don quixote?? i don't even remember now.

I have been enjoying Togetherness as well. It took me forever to figure out who the new blonde friend Michelle has is, then finally realized it was Kevin's wife from The League.

Watched a whole season of Game of Card and just gave up. Couldn't do it. Spacey's accent was a big part of it (and the Blanche thing it dead on!).

I haven't watched an episode of Vinyl yet. I think I'm just gonna leave it alone.

Yeah Togetherness is a good show. She's also Mark Duplass' real life wife.

Yes Vinyl is terrible. Why am I watching it? I think at this point it's the ritual of watching like 3 or 4 shows on HBO on Sunday nights. Maybe they could just put anything in those time slots and I'd watch it?

I watch both Vinyl and Girls every Sunday (at least until the end of this season). I think both shows are pretty much garbage, vinyl more so, yet I keep watching.  I'm not proud of it but I guess I'll watch almost anything.  That being said, I think that if you'd never seen an HBO series (or AMC or Showtime or whatever) and you saw those shows for the first time you'd probably think they were pretty good. I don't know what my point is.. I guess we're spoiled with great television!
