Authorized reissue of the Scabs debut and lone 7", originally released by the band in 1979 on Club Land Records in Exeter, England.

Recorded in nearly 2 hours in North London, The Scabs originally released this 7" themselves and resorted to selling copies to their fellow students at the school cafe. The band broke up after a year and half, leaving nothing but the Amory Building 7" behind.

First time ever reissue of this record. "Leave Me Alone" was included on the iconic Soul Jazz Punk 45 comp of underground and rare UK punk 1977-1981, as well as a few Killed By Deaths.

Includes brand new liner notes from singer James Young and band photos. Deluxe pocket sleeve restored by Ken MacLaurin, mastered by Dave Williams.

1. Amory Building
2. Leave Me Alone
3. Don't Just Sit There
4. U.R.E.

Here's a video of the pocket sleeves. I'm never doing this again.

New reissues from Hosehead Records. Very excited about doing this!

On sale now! www.hoseheadrecords.bigcartel.com

HHRE001: The Moderns - Year Of Today EP

The legendary debut EP from Sweden's The Moderns reissued in North America for the first time ever. This one is best known for their hit "Got To Have Pop". Easily one of the most influential power pop bands from the 70s, along with The Nerves, The Riptides, and Pointed Sticks, etc.

Nervous Talk - S/T LP
Two years after this band released their debut 7" on Mammoth Cave, they kind of disappeared. Then I moved to Vancouver and it turns out they didn't disappear, they just hardly ever managed to play out of their home town. When they told me they had an lp's worth of material recorded, I couldn't not put it out. This is 10 songs of snotty punk/power pop perfection. For fans of: Teenage Head, Buzzcocks, Marked Men.

The Mandates - In The Back Of Your Heart LP

Again in a follow up to their Mammoth Cave debut, this LP sees the band tightening up their haphazard '77 punk sound and steering right into the skid. Recorded, mixed, and produced by Pat Kearns (Exploding Hearts).

Brat Kings - Good Drugs 7"
Members of Sonic Avenues and Pow-Wows. Brat Kings are the newest good band out of Toronto/Montreal. A perfect blend of garage and punk without coming across as modern garage punk.

Hosehead has two new 7"s put up for sale today, both Canadian bands. No preorder, no bullshit. Records are in hand and ready to ship. Buy 'em both and save $1.

http://hoseheadrecords.bigcartel.com/

First up is First Base: the band most people know because Personal and the Pizzas covered their song "Nobody Makes My Girl Cry But Me", but also released a topnotch LP on Hozac in 2013 and a string of singles before that. This 7" is four tracks that sounds like The Beach Boys, Ramones, Rudi and Undertones mixed into one. 300 pressed.

Bandcamp

Second is Fashionism, with features Jeff McCloy from Tranzmitors, and members of New Town Animals and The Jolts. This is their debut 7" and mostly picks up where Tranzmitors left off in the late 2000s, with maybe more of a Boys/Eddie and the Hot Rods vibe this time around.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / TV Freaks - Leeches 7"
« on: June 10, 2014, 04:17:02 PM »
Out June 24th on Hosehead: TV Freaks - Leeches 7".

Featuring members of Rocket Reducers and Mystics, TV Freaks are from Hamilton, Ontario, a city once known for housing Canadian punk legends Teenage Head and Simply Saucer. Hamilton's music scope is much more hardcore oriented these days, birthing Haymaker and providing the grounds for the first out of town Fucked Up and Career Suicide shows. TV Freaks lie somewhere in between - they're like Black Flag meets Wire meets Eddy Current Suppression League. Leeches marks their first time releasing music not on Hamilton-based Schizophrenic Records. 7" is three songs in 5 minutes and comes with an insert and a download code. The reverse sleeves are stamped are with a handcut stamp.

Listen to the track "Leeches" here: http://hoseheadrecords.bandcamp.com/album/leeches-7
Full 7" will be up on Bandcamp, iTunes, eMusic, Rdio, etc on June 24th or slightly before.

Available in the Hosehead webstore on June 24th. First 100 copies come on clear vinyl.

I just got copies of the new Average Times LP. These things look and sound amazing. They're going on sale on March 4th at noon EST in the Hosehead Webstore. The first 30 copies sold online are on peach coloured vinyl (out of 75 for North America), the rest will be sold at the two release shows with Peach Kelli Pop in Toronto (March 21st) and Ottawa (March 22).

Add another notch in Ottawa's belt, as yet again they've produced another top notch punk record. Recorded with Yogi (White Wires, Steve Adamyk Band, Sonic Avenea, etc) at his Meatlocker, Average Times debut LP is 13 tracks of over-caffinated garage punk similar to Stiv Bators, Mean Jeans, Jay Reatard and The Oblivians.

Digital available right now via Bandcamp, iTunes, eMusic, rdio, spotify, amazon, etc.
